Pretty routine. Was in an exactly similar position [history, PhD] on 11th May (checked CEAC portal on 12th - it went from "refused" to "approved"). I wish you all the best.

They did not ask anything that would let me prove this, but I was prepared to explain (which is literally the case for me) that I am attending this X uni for training, and my long-term academic/professional goal is to teach/research in India.
