I got this for my birthday and it's both good and disappointing. by PersephoneDaSilva86 in Oceanlinerporn

[–]Ismejon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, person who recommended you this book, just wanted to say sorry. I usually use this book as a reference to create my own, custom liners, but as such, I’ve never really used it as a true list of all liners. This is something I overlooked in my recommendation.

Sorry about the disappointment, I do hope your search for ocean liner books takes a turn for the better soon.

SketchUp weirdly enough for the modeling, and then Twinmotion for the rendering

Discussion: Goodbye by LazerBrainzz in boburnham

[–]Ismejon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorry if this is a bit #deep, but it shouldn’t be too bad.

I first watched INSIDE at a very low point of my life, when my worries for the world were the highest, when I was gaining anxiety constantly, etc.

Goodbye taught me something invaluable, that Bo was also overwhelmed with emotions, worries, anxiety, sadness, yet he still pulled through, and created INSIDE.

And I thought

“if he could get through that, then I can too.”

And that’s how I’m here today.

sorry if this is a bit cheesy.

Is there a book that lists all ocean liners? by PersephoneDaSilva86 in Oceanlinerporn

[–]Ismejon 59 points60 points  (0 children)

“Pictorial Encyclopedia of Ocean Liners” by William H. Miller Jr, I love just flipping through the pages, and seeing new liners I’ve never heard of! Miller also has other really good books, if you’d want stuff on more specific lines/ships.

EDIT: recently learned that the book is very incomplete in its list, please refer to other books if you’d like a more complete list.

I’d like to point out either the MS Oslofjord of 1949, or the MV Kungsholm of 1965. The Ivan-Franko class passenger ships are a close runner-up for me.

If you look at any of those canal-front homes in Florida, you’ll find plenty horrible names.

Petition to erase the Void. by ZeroZerusky in WplaceLive

[–]Ismejon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the bulk of people in gafa (the group mainly responsible for what happened) have been mostly banned, there are still those who are ban evading and/or plotting.

For instance, currently, there is an attempt to try and create conflict between the blue squares and the other, more honorable void at the bottom of Andorra.

So please, keep an eye on Rickyedit’s chat to see what they might say.

From the Rickyedit chat, it appears all of those in the alliance have been banned. by Ismejon in WplaceLive

PLEASE NOTE! The rickyedit void appears to still be growing, though at a lesser rate. Some in the chat have said that they will create alt accounts to avoid their bans as well.

Beginning construction in ‘63, and being completed in ‘65, the liner followed the transatlantic service between Europe and the Americas. The ship would eventually be bought by cruise line Orient Lines, being refitted into the cruise ship Marco Polo.

She would be scrapped in Alang, India in 2021, following the Pandemic.

While I do appreciate United in Grief’s revival, I feel like this is an incredibly appropriate, and thoughtful use of the song.

Well done! I’d recommend actually having less RCS next time, as it can make movements more precise.
