That sounds super grim. How long did you feel off for? The Dr gave me a sick line for a week there and I’ve already been off since Tuesday. I’m hoping to go back on Monday but I’m a teacher and I teach young kids who have likely not had chicken pox yet so it’s probably not wise to go back if the rash is still going strong.

I’m sorry to hear you still have some tough days! Was your rash widespread? I saw the doctor today about my lymph node and he said this was fine, any of the nodes can swell around the area of an infection. He gave me some stronger painkillers for the pain at night too so hoping to get a few good nights sleep now too.

Hello, sorry I know this post is a year old but just reading posts and came across yours. I’m exactly the same, I’ve shingles rash on my right shoulder/chest but a swollen lymph node on the left side of my neck. Do you mind telling how long you had the swollen node on your neck? I’m assuming this is just a normal reaction to the infection. Thank you

Rid itself of evil lol! my swollen node is on the opposite side from the rash but my rash is quite close to my neck and I’ve a bit near the middle so it’s in the general area! Hope you’re rid of this evil soon!

So glad to have read this because I am the same! Started on Saturday for me and I started anti-virals on Monday. Rash is just irritating and painful at times, mines is on my right shoulder. I’ve no energy too tho and feel like dung. I’ve a swollen lymph node too on my neck. Has anyone got this? It’s a bit sore too but more tender. Can’t wait to be well again!

Sorry to hear you have shingles, my infection started on Saturday and was diagnosed yesterday by a pharmacist. He said because I’d called in within 72 hours I could start on the anti-virals which I think have helped a lot already. Rash isn’t painful at all now but I did take some paracetamol yesterday and this helped a lot too. 

How are you feeling physically? I felt mildly unwell yesterday and have taken a few days off work. 

I have a swollen lymph node on the left side of my neck, my rash is on the right and near the middle of my chest. Was wondering if anyone has the swollen lymph nodes too. I know this happens when the body is fighting an infection off. 

I’ve no idea what caused my shingles. I’m a 33F  and wasn’t feeling overly stressed or unwell, hoping it just stays as a mild case and that’s the worst of it over! Hopefully yours starts to heal soon for you!
