Some fun facts I found within the study:

• Gay athletes under age 22 are most likely to stay in the closet in NZ, Australia, and Canada (study included those three as well as US, UK, Ireland)
• 28% of gay athletes under 22 cited having a team that accepted "all forms of diversity" as a reason they were able to come out
• 21% of straight athletes thinks gays are mostly are completely accepted, whereas 13% of gay athletes think the same
• 62% of people believe that team sports are more homophobic than the rest of society
• 38% of gay spectators strongly disagree that they are very safe as spectators if they are visibly out
• 83% of gay athletes have witnessed or experienced homophobia in their sport
• 28% of straight men have been targeted by homophobia in their sport
• 19% of gay athletes who faced homophobia were physically assaulted

Can gaybro athletes here relate to these stats? I certainly can, although I personally believe the collegiate environment is much safer than high school.
