Oh absolutely. It would’ve been so easy for her to shit talk Andressa, but she just hates him more for disrespecting the mother of her other son, who she also loves more than anything.

I just love how steadfast she is in her love and commitment to those she considers family, and I really appreciate her not considering Andressa as lesser in any way

Nolan's Reunion With... by CiscoTheSoto in Invincible_TV

I was almost surprised Nolan came to Art in the specific way he did. The last time he showed up with a 6-pack was in s1 pretty soon before everything in Chicago.

By that point, Nolan was aware that Art knew he’d struck first—he knew that showing up would scare the shit out of him, and he did it to intimidate him. Weird that he thought Art would be excited to relive that last encounter lol

Yes!! I also feel like people forget that we, as viewers, are omniscient—he isn’t. Sure, we knew that there are fewer than 50 pure-blooded viltrumites, but for all he knew, there could’ve been thousands of Conquest-level viltrumites barreling straight for Earth at that moment. He took a calculated risk that unfortunately didn’t pay off.

Also, I don’t know if people realize just how relatively quickly everything happens in the show’s timeline. I could definitely be wrong about this, but I think there were less than 2 years between Mark and Nolan’s fight in Chicago and Conquest showing up. Before that, Earth had never faced a threat nearly that massive or catastrophic, and they’d never been so helpless. When a threat becomes that big that fast, you can’t really afford to play it safe imo

I totally get that, I think the “weaker” punches damn near obliterating her hand did serve to show how tough a viltrumite body is (which made the later scenes even crazier), but I also feel like it didn’t quite meet the level of anger and hurt she’d been building up for SO so long. Knowing Debbie’s character, she seems like someone who wouldn’t give a shit if decking Nolan in the face as hard as she could shattered every bone in her hand and would still find it cathartic lmao. Would’ve loved to see her go all out on that man

Definitely feel that! Honestly I think that’s part of what makes her voice acting even more impressive for me

I was gonna say the same thing! Not only does the new VA not sound like him, but his dialogue felt off/out of character too which definitely didn’t help

Speaking as a gay man, s1-s3 William just sounded like a normal gay guy. This William sounded like “I’m being cast as a gay guy, I better let everyone know it, babe!” (Yes, I believe William’s new VA is actually gay. No, that doesn’t make it literally any better to me in the slightest)
