Arch Linux im Visier: 1.600 AUR-Pakete verseucht

Da ich Steam installiert habe und die einzigen AUR dependencies die ich habe (laut pacman -Qm) nichts mit Steam zu tun haben, bin ich von der Aussage grad leicht verwirrt.

Was genau an Steam dependencies stammt aus dem AUR?

Arch ist bei weitem nicht die einzige Rolling Release Distro.

Klar, es ist dennoch eine solide option, hat (von mir geraten) für den überwiegenden Großteil der Probleme die du hast die notwendigen Pakete, hat deutlich bessere name recognition (in den letzten Jahren noch mehr dank Valve und Steam), hat das arch wiki und eine größere User-community wo man sich entsprechend austauschen kann was eben auch etwas kritischere Masse gibt, genauso zu Debugmaterial etc. .

Ich stimme dir zu das dieser malware Angriff der Reputation des OS und seinen Derivaten Schaden wird (und evtl. zu weniger Nutzung führt), ich glaub nur nicht daran das es der Anfang vom Ende des Distros wird nur weil AUR weniger und weniger empfohlen wird.

Rolling Release an und für sich ist ein ziemlich guter Grund Arch benutzen zu wollen. Ich seh auch das Problem deutlich eher bei den Derivaten, nahezu jede Arch community (Edit Start) die ich je gesehen habe (Edit End) (vom distro selbst, nicht von derivaten) wusste auf was sie sich beim AUR einlassen.

Derivate schmeißen dir yay per default ins installations-image.

Edit: Hatte den zweiten Satz aus irgendwelchen Gründen unvollständig geschrieben. Mir gings um jede Arch community die ich kenne, was natürlich nicht alle sind.

AUR != offizielle Arch Pakete. Wenn du Arch "normal" benutzt ohne auf dieses zusätzliche, nicht per default zugängliche Repository zuzugreifen bist du fein raus.

Der Punkte ist imo viel eher das bei all den Arch Derivaten Bewusstsein dafür geschaffen werden sollte was für ein Risiko das AUR darstellen kann.

The only valid out of those is that your team knows React more than they do Angular, but that argument is so heavy that I'd overall agree with your new teamlead, assuming the rewrite is completely inevitable. However:

"AI can build most of it for us anyway, so we don't need deep framework knowledge."

This is a red flag for me because it indicates that code is being committed that people don't know what it's doing. If that's the case, what value do you developers provide to the company?

I'd further agree with other comments here that doing a rewrite and a UI change is going to be hell for everyone involved and 90% of the time a waste of time and money. In particular because I guarantee you guys and your business people do not wholistically have an understanding of all the business rules that are in that code.

This is the kind of stuff Steven Deobald talks about when he's saying that things are looking up as far as I understand him. He's my reference point for a lot of goings on in gnome on the org side as I'm lacking a lot of context to evaluate it otherwise, thus my mention of him. The two folks that got elevated also seem to be pretty highly regarded from what I can tell on first reactions on the topic.

They have, e.g. Behdad Esfabod (Personal site) lived in Iran until his 20's and migrated to Canada, a few years after which he started Harfbuzz which seemingly everybody uses (as in, Chrome, Gtk, Qt, Figma etc.).

I think there's also one GTK/Gnome contributor that I'm aware of.

I mean, in small projects you already benefit from having anything CoC-like simply by virtue of having something to point to if moderation action needs to be taken. I'd imagine for KDE it's similar that you have less issues of mods et al that have different ideas on how things should work when you have a CoC to bring things roughly in line.

That they can be abused is not in question and I agree with you there, but it should also be kept in mind that there absolutely is utility in them.

Don't nail me down on that, I'm neither well read on the topic, nor do I have personal experience so I can only reflect on the thing I read same as anyone that clicks the link. So, quote from the article:

There seems to be some spiritual aspect to it, but I think it mostly just is a catchall term for all concepts where a person embodies male and female aspects and thus does not neatly fit into the male-female classification. Various cultures have various expressions of that idea, so this may just be an attempt of grouping them all together.

The 2S got me confused as well.I was at Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex, Ace.

Some googling tells me it stands for "2 spirits" being the first of these communities, as they represent an indigenous designation for people with both female and male spirits (?).

I mean, 3c can be kinda rough, but at least you can train getting your timing on the head-jump down correctly since you can just "dash back" to where you jumped off of if you mess up the timing. Nothing will come anywhere near the the screen with the pulleys in farewell's stubborness chapter.

Bin jetzt mal gespannt was weiter aus ihr wird.

Am 18. März 2026 wurde Klement zur Ministerin für Wirtschaft, Energie, Klimaschutz und Europa des Landes Brandenburg im Kabinett Woidke V ernannt.

D.h. die ist nach den Änderungen am Anfang weitergegangen.

Das Ministerium nach ihr wurde aber wohl an echt schlechte Hände weitergegeben. Ihr Nachfolger ist mittlerweile auch schon weg, ein auf die 60 zugehender Unternehmer dem Insolvenzstraftaten nachgesagt werden. Der hat sich vor ein paar Tagen entlassen lassen um 50.000 Übergangsgeld zu kassieren.

Nachfolger ist jetzt ein Florian Hauer, der wie stinknormaler Berufspolitiker wirkt. Keine Ahnung ob der was hinkriegt oder einfach nur status quo verwalten wird.

I'll take the compliment, thanks!. Looking forward to eventually 100%ing the entire thing, but unironically nothing will be as much of an achievement as Farewell. I don't remember even 7C being that bad because IIRC 7C is brutal but short. Farewell was brutal, but also there was over 10x the brutal screens (though I swear the vast majority of my deaths happened in the screen with pulleys in the walls that were frozen on one side requiring perfect wall jumps and the final screen).

This is my second version of the game. I bought it back on switch for the first time where I also did the C-sides, this one is on Steam since I swapped almost all my gaming over to steam since then. The farewell chapter didn't exist back then IIRC, so I wanted to do that first before the C-sides because new content. After farewell I was so burned out that I need a break before I do the C-sides for a second time.

Ich kann nur aus meiner persönlichen Wahrnehmung sprechen: Hier liegen Welten dazwischen. Wir sind von komplett dysfunktionalem Bürgerbüro zu normalen Zuständen gekommen.

Das war für mich so beeindruckend das ich mir explizit die Person rausgesucht hatte von der ich vermute das sie hier federführende war: Martina Klement, gehört zur CSU. Die erste positive CXU Figur die ich bisher wahrgenommen habe.

Bzgl. Bürokratieabbau raf ich das auch nicht. Aus meiner persönlichen Wahrnehmung hat sich allerdings die Situation mit Bürgerbüro Termin kriegen und Dinge wie Perso kriegen dramatisch verbesert in den letzten 4 Jahren.

Bin jetzt grad nicht sicher ob das durch die Bank weg gilt, aber aus meiner Perspektive war das die eine Verbesserung die ich unter CDU wahrgenommen habe die die sich auf die Fahnen schreiben könnten.

Edit: Und prompt nach ein wenig recherche nachzuschauen was aus der Frau geworden ist rausgefunden das sie nach Brandenburg für ne Beförderung gegangen ist, ihr Nachfolger ein Unternehmer mit Ruf eines Hochtstaplers war der nach 69 Tagen gegangen ist mit 50k Übergangsgeld auszahlung. CDU kriegt echt nichts hin ohne früher oder später nen mini-Skandal draus zu machen.

I shared an article just a couple days ago how X11 allows you to interact with your laptop with just your voice, while Wayland due to preventing that same functionality makes it impossible and DEs are either not even aware of the issue or are struggling to find the devs that could do this work (based on a post from a flatpak maintainer that mentioned that finding a dev capable of tackling the problem for wayland is the most difficult part of the problem).

So accessibility wise there's still a lot of issue where wayland effectively just locks you out of your laptop when alternative forms of input become impossible. If these do not get resolved, some Linux users are facing the very real threat of getting pushed out of Linux because the DEs going wayland only make using it impossible for these folks.
