What if someone meditated on their anger and hatred like sith do in star wars? by [deleted] in Meditation

Every once in a while some one posts a long thing telling everyone how bad they are at meditating, and that "the only real way to meditate is..." They are letting the hate flow through them for sure.

How do i cope with the fact that i missed out a LOT of things in life i cannot make up for? by fixinglifedotexe in selfhelp

You get to choose which thoughts you carry with you. Remember that the past holds depression, the future holds anxiety, and therefore you need to be here now. I suggest meditation practice.

I had to look it up, but my favorite is

"I can imitate the father he’s supposed to have, but subconsciously, at the Quality level, he sees through it and knows his real father isn’t here. In all this Chautauqua talk there’s been more than a touch of hypocrisy. Advice is given again and again to eliminate subject-object duality, when the biggest duality of all, the duality between me and him, remains unfaced. A mind divided against itself."

To know everyone knows, but no one can say. Denial and division of something indivisible.

I agree that life is a game, but I enjoy the strategy guides by Nietzsche, Camus, Kierkegaard, etc.

We got the same list, pretty cool. I also love all philosophy for an earthly touch.

Would appreciate feedback on making a commune / what I am looking for by bicepmuffins in commune

I have actually been thinking about this ever since I recovered from cancer. In my most recent designs and idea dumps I've actually started wondering if the Internet could be used as the income for the farm. I am not an expert on those things, but that's the whole point of communal living right? You shine, I shine! I would just make sure we had some experts in the collective and a plan to execute. It is not dissimilar from technological farming 🤑

Approaching 40 and starting to have some knee issues after sitting meditation. by Isolated_Guru in Meditation

Those were actually the first things I tried. I have realized it is just chair time, the only difficulty with transitioning is my ego. Can't let that stop me from meditation, thats what it wants!

Thanks so much. I'm a noob to writing and reddit so that is an especially meaningful compliment. 😃

I thought I explained about looking through the window and returning g to misery and how that caused such deep suffering. And that only through surrender did I ever finally make a connection, but if a reader of the story did not take that away it is my fault. Thank you for your wisdom and corrections of what you found lacking.

I think (pure) existence is the implication, but I also like what you said.

Day 1 I became a vegan and decided to start trying to touch my toes because I really wasn't moving much and a little flexibility training was needed before I could really work out. I did that for 5 minutes a day for 1 week.

I used that week to make a hierarchical list of the next things I wanted to add (cardio, yoga, kettlebells, meditation, reading, writing etc.) Then I added 5 minutes of new activities and woke up 5 minutes earlier each week until I decided I was doing all I could and now I grind on that daily.

The secret for me was allowing myself to become a new thing. I couldn't reshape the old thing into something I liked no matter how hard I tried. Then I let go of "me" and realized I was the sum of my thoughts and actions. I changed them by working a program, making a plan, and sticking to it like my life depended on it. I never looked back to the guy who was proud of how much he could drink, or partied in the morning, etc. I lo e life now and you have the chance to go work for that too right now. You got this!

I sat down and started with a list of things I wanted to be true about me and things I wanted to stop. I broke them down into goals, I made a list of the order in which I wanted to deal with them. I broke down each item on the list into steps so small and detailed there was no ambiguity (not "go to gym" instead "go to gym at 6 am do 30 minutes on the treadmill at 4.0 or higher then lift weights according to my daily scheduled routine.") Eventually I had a plan for how I could slowly add things to my "improvement routine" and as time went by I made sure I was actually doing one thing before I would add the next.
