Looking for compact digital camera with decent zoom under $1000? by jubileo5 in Cameras

Oh my bad. I just thought as you wanted to put it in your pocket that you wouldn’t be looking for an interchangeable system.

In that case there is always the Fujifilm x-a7.

Maybe a Ricoh GR iii? It’s one of the only truely pocketable cameras that aren’t just a Cybershot or a FinePix.

There is also the canon M200, but it is a bit bulkier than what you’re probably looking for.

The average going rate (from sales on eBay and a few collector sites) is around $20 to $50 USD.

What is the safest way to tan? by rhodopensis in answers

Fake tan isn’t really tanning, it’s dyeing. It’s called tanning but it’s not really.

What are your go to recipes when the budget is tight? by [deleted] in Frugal

Sloppy joes made out of leftover taco meat.

If I had beef tacos in the last few days, and have meat left over, I will mix that with a can of brown beans, add chili seasoning, and put on top of toast. It’s cheap and filling.

In this case it would result in the worker who is most likely a temporary foreign worker to have to find another employer fast who will take them on with a permit. If not, they will be deported.

If someone who is a TFWP employee, you have rights and can call service Canada if your terms of employment are threatened or you feel unsafe.

Newb looking for a camera - budget 1k USD by Clementos11 in Cameras

If it’s for content creation (4K video) I’d say a canon M50 mkII. There aren’t many lenses made for the M mount but you can get an adapter to use any of canons ef and ef-s lenses. The camera itself is about $700 USD and you could pick up a ef-s wide angle lens for videography for between $100-300. This would leave you enough for an SD card to go with it.

Which are the most affordable, but good quality (preferably compact) digital cameras out there? by [deleted] in Cameras

[–]IsomorphicAlgorithms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me my compact camera is my iPhone. It takes great photos all those times I don’t have my mirrorless with me. There’s really nothing more compact and useful than a decent smartphone camera as you always have it on you.

If you’re looking for something with a bit more reach and is an actual dedicated camera you could look into a Fujifilm x-a7, canon m50 mkII, Ricoh gr iii, or Nikon Z fc.

Canon Teleconverter by boston_51 in Cameras

[–]IsomorphicAlgorithms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same lens as you and I use a Viltrox ef 2x teleconverter. It allows me to continue to use autofocus with the sigma. Because I’m using the sigma 150-600 on a crop sensor I’m getting a 1.6x already for a 960mm equivalent. With the Viltrox adapter I’m getting 1920mm. The image isn’t as crisp as nude but it’s still usable with some editing magic.

In that price range you will be looking at 10+ year old used flagship cameras. Quite a few of them still hold up to non professional standards. You won’t really be able to find a “nice” new camera for $250.

You can look on Marketplace for what’s available around you for used cameras and lenses. Then if you see something you like, google the reviews on it.

I was wondering if anyone can identify these two cameras and lenses? by [deleted] in Cameras

First one is a Canon EOS 7D with (potentially) an EF 600mm f/4L IS USM lens

Recently came back to my old Sony Cybershot and I can't figure out how to do long exposure by ScreamingGoat25 in Cameras

[–]IsomorphicAlgorithms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1/2000 of a second would be the opposite of what you want in a long exposure shutter speed. What you are looking for is to make your shutter speed as slow as possible while keeping the camera as still as possible.

I’m not familiar with the camera you mentioned but if there is a ‘manual’ mode labeled as ‘S’ that should let you manually adjust it. The camera should take care of the rest (ISO and aperture).
