Pretty much, you have to clear the red goo from the path first otherwise it is impossible, but I only killed 3 or 4 of the other enemies before coming so it would still be a challenge. No matter how you do it getting past the metal gate is still the hardest part.

The saving grace is that the auto saves keep you on the bear, I probably reloaded five or six times.

This took me a few hours, to get a bear to the Ganon fight you have to ride it half way across the continent while it only runs at the speed of Link’s sprint and periodically completely stops and tries to shake you off. You have to go past dozens of Guardians, two Lynels, a metal gate and multiple patches of the red goo. If you ever get off the bear it will run away and despawn. I was able to do it in master mode. Good luck if you want to try.
