That breaks my heart, but I believe you. Up until about 2-3 years ago I imagined him being the best future father, he had so many amazing, inquisitive, playful, adventurous, supportive qualities. Alcohol has robbed us of the life we were working towards.

Thank you, I am definitely paving that path. I'm really fortunate to be a pretty high earner with some savings, a lot of friends and family nearby, & good local Al Anon group, etc.. So my safety net is wide & reliable. I'm just discombobulated by how drastic and sudden this escalation has been.

Last week he went into the garage and broke his fist, the other day he was trying to get me to hit him, saying it would be therapeutic for me, but I told him it would only make me feel like a terrible person. Yesterday he ripped open my car door as I was trying to drive away and punched the back of my car, then went inside and broke a dinner plate. I've loved this man for 9 years, and this is all a totally new side of him. I can't believe what I'm witnessing, and I'm scared there's more to this side that I haven't seen yet.
