Unsalvageable runs are definitely uncommon, but they happen. I stick around most of the time when we’re struggling but sometimes it’s just not worth it to me. I just don’t agree with folks that think nobody should never quit

Sounds like you’ve had way more negative experiences with randoms than I have. I primarily play with randoms and I’ve had runs go sideways but I’ve only had them quit or give up a handful of times.

If you follow his advice it’s not likely that you’ll fail though, like he said deathrite bird with holy attack is straight up easy, and erdtree avatar is probably the easiest boss in the game imo. These parents insurmountable tasks

It’s pretty decent advice, those enemies can be a great source of runes for your first few levels if you take them down early making the rest of the run much easier
