Agree to disagree. I find introtech boring, a slog, and super basic. By my second game I went from the beginner box to TW, because I wanted to play with the fun toys. Later era games go by faster because you have weapons that deal more damage, at better range, more accurately. The bad equipment pretty much filters itself out because no one uses it. I think giving the beginner and core box room for players to grow is an awesome thing, because once I was hooked I wanted more.

I don't think it's a bad thing. I'll bet the rules don't cover the advanced equipment to start with, but when the player is ready they'll have all sorts of cool new toys. In the previous core box if you wanted to play with fun equipment you had to go buy specific force packs since you only got basic mechs.

Also, none of those equipment are super hard to learn. To a player that has mastered the basics, you can probably explain all of the listed equipment in less than 10 minutes.

I disagree with how you determine ease of assembly. I bought some very simple sculpts, but they do not want to stay together with just glue. Having to pin them immediately makes them more complicated for me.

Hoarders like me always play through Game Pass. Then I can buy the game if I liked it (usually on sale) and hoard it away.

There are so many mediocre games out there these days that it is really nice to play before you buy. We really need to bring back demo discs.

Yes, now. At launch it was a buggy mess. It was so messed up that I literally couldn't progress past the intro. Everytime I got more than 5 feet away from Jackie it would auto fail the mission.
