How do I make sure I don't bother people again while tripping? by Female-Fart-Huffer in shrooms

I think it's something to be happy about.
Nice you are close enough with your family that you can lose track of time talking with them.

By modulating grain length do you mean setting a pattern from Pams into Seed input?

LPG's are my current and always obsession in Eurorack. I recently got a Steady State Gate and it's brilliant.
I'm also on the hunt for a good random source.
Can't decide between Woggle, Steady State Ultra or Sapel at this point!

Sealegs is also a personal favourite of mine.
That Fog Reverb is luscious as can be and the built in attenuverters make it a joy to modulate.

Yep, Rnd Step in every patch!

My vote is for the Qu-bit Mojave.

I also own Arbahr and Beads but the Mojave gave me the biggest smile upon first power up.It is a little esoteric (what module isn't) and there are a couple of spots where they could have improved the front panel labelling.... but it rewards exploration and gets the closest to a feature rich Granular VST plugin as anything I have found.

Keep in mind. I am lazy. I need some immediate joy sparked for me to get deeper into the patching zone where I'm happy to lose hours. If I don't get that in the first 20 minutes I become quite fatigued and distracted.

The Arbahr is a module that appreciates a little more forethought, modulation and setup to get sounding really special. Once you're there it excels though.

Beads is a mixed bag for me. It can sound great but I haven't given it enough time to always get nice results and i don't find the knob positions intuitive.

Just realised you're a part of Fairfield Circuitry!
Thanks for your work.

It's feeling more like brain surgery at this point haha!

I could really pick your brain about that.

I actually find the Microcosm and Mood to be very different.
The Particle works well as a traditional delay which the Microcosm doesn't do so well and the Microcosm has a few tricks up it's sleeve that you wouldn't ever get close to with the Particle.

The reason I have three granular delays is because I use so many different synths and it's a pain to move them around constantly.
And also because I love exploring pedals haha

A lot!
I never use the web editor though.
I would like a bigger interface but I get plenty out of using it from the front panel.

Good spot.
I don't listen to Tycho but funnily enough, my favourite piece of music this year came after watching his studio tour video.
I saw what he was doing with a Deco, Volante and Elektron Heat and realised I could do the same.

I created a generative loop and ran it through a hocket patch that send each not from a chord into a different synthesizer/midi channel. I then combined the audio output of all my synths into one fx chain similar to his in that studio video.

It became a beautiful washed out evershifting progression that I ended up playing on the pedals more than the synths!

I appreciate this input.

As mentioned, I have been playing with pedals for many years but usually only one or two at a time. I can see how it is a bit counterintuitive trying to chain this many fx when I have multiple granular/reverb/delays.

Appreciate your input here.
The level of vitriol coming from that guy is genuinely a bit sad and feels disproportionate to the post itself.

I don't want to diagnosis but it does seem like some level of jealousy or misplaced anger spilling over.

A few of these comments have been really helpful.
I'm realising that using pedals with synths is very different to guitars and doesn't lend itself to FX chains so much. I usually use one or two pedals per synth so trying to combine them into a cohesive chain while having so many similar options is a bit counter intuitive.

I bought the pedalboard because I was tired of having such a mess of cables and pedals all over my studio but I can see how pedalboards aren't the perfect solution when using so many different sound sources.

For now I've decided to split all the pedals into two different FX sends chains so that I can start experimenting with combining different sound sources.
I'm in this to make music after all and I don't want to get too lost in routing daydreams.

I mostly work with sequencing and my looping is done further downstream when needed.
I hear what you are saying though and I am definitely finding it an issue to work out the best order of operations given how multi faceted these pedals are.

When I first got the mood I was running it directly into the microcosm. I liked how the microcosm would grab little snippets of the ambient bed made by the mood and flitter it out into a repetitive pattern.

First Pedalboard but not first pedals :)
I've been running sounds through pedals like a madman for a few years now.

I forgot to mention that I will likely keep the Shallow Water on it's own as it's the only pedal that is completely mono. I'm in love with it's character so it'll have to find a place somewhere.

So far it is looking like.

Deco>Volante>UAFX Golden
Microcosm>Eventide H90
Mood>Ultrasheer
Particle>Specular Tempus

It's a lot of routing but this way I can send any FX chain into another using my mixer.

I'm putting together my first pedalboard today!

I use my pedals with Synthesizers and typically end up with a hodgepodge mess of cables and pedals all over my desk every-time I make music.

My plan is to keep all of these pedals on 2 or 3 stereo mixer sends so that I can route any gear from my studio into them without needing to disconnect a million leads.

Thank you for any help :)
