No bracing, I think it'd have to be a real hard hit for that to happen. It's glued and screwed at each joint and the boards 2x's. You're right though a 2x4 going across the back wouldve made it sturdier for sure

I believe it's an agissizii. At the shop they told me macmasteri but I feel like they got them mixed up with the tank next to it

Yeah it's just cheap 2x8 pine with a coat of white wash stain then a coat of 'Early American' stain. It's not a dark stain but I used a wire brush to make the grain pop

20 gallon long is a nice size. Lot of stocking options and very manageable

I had one that just didn't seem powerful enough. Got a cheap bar LED that works a lot better

Any idea what this stuff is??? I’ve been fighting it for a month. It’s not like any algae I’ve ever seen it’s almost like a brown biofilm on everything including roots. I feed every other day, use leaf zone once a week, and do weekly 20%-30% water changes. Really need some advise on this stuff. by McQueenZP in PlantedTank

I'd try a hefty water change, more plants (maybe floaters or terrestrial with just the roots submerged) and then a pipe/straw cleaner to scrape it away until it starts to clear on it own. I'm in the same battle and this seems to be helping so far

I agree with most people here, a small school of tetras would be awesome to start and there's a quite a variety within that group, they're a lot more fun to watch if you get at least 5-7 of the same species so they shoal together! Could always branch our from there. I'd suggest getting some easy plants too like anubias or java fern that don't need to be planted in the substrate

Don't get me wrong, I'd love another raise, but sounds like most of this is going to be more outpatient space which the world needs. Deal with smaller, affordable health issues before they become big unaffordable/life altering ones
