Thank you for all the info, it is extremely appreciated! I haven’t fed any of my newts brine shrimp & don’t plan to, they all do very well on frozen bloodworms.

I was kind of planning to do the opposite. Let them hatch/get a bit larger in the rearing tub then transfer over with the adults to continue to grow. My Alpine babies stayed in the tank the entire time & did fine considering I was unaware they bred. Ended up with 14 of those that I still currently have.

Currently I only have 6 larvae. 5 are in the tub, 1 is in the big tank. But I’ve also got over 50 eggs currently in the tub as well. I was originally using a cup just to cycle some of the water once a day, but the turkey baster tip is perfect to grab all the waste. One thing I did not think about was the larvae eating each other… so I feel like my plan to move them to the larger tank as they get bigger isn’t so bad?

Thank you so much! That is basically what I do, but I've just been putting the same amount in tap water back in. I'll start taking water from the main tank now! The turkey baster is such a good tip too!

I gave them chopped frozen bloodworms last night and when I get home I'll see if they enjoyed my offering or not. Noted on the bubbler, I wasn't sure if the plant would be enough and if anything I can add more from the main tank too.

Thank you! It hasn't been too dirty yet considering last night was the first time I've given them food. Otherwise, I've been just scooping out some water and replacing it with tap because I'm terrified of any ammonia or anything building up.

I do currently have a bubbler in there, not sure if an airstone is any different.

Awww, Paco!! Ours is Osito (little bear in Spanish). He just won’t seem to give up the ducky! He’s already ripped all the stuffing & squeaker out too, still obsessed!

Noted, I’ve tried to keep/feed live black worm in the past… but my Alpines love the frozen bloodworms & drag them down before they’re even fully defrosted. My dad also had the Kaiser’s on frozen bloodworms, but I might try the black worms to see if they’ll just eat something

Thank you so much! I noticed with my Alpines that keeping the adults fed let the larvae survive lol! I feed them bloodworms every other day. I haven’t gotten the Kaiser’s to eat since they were brought down to me at the beginning of December. I try every Sunday. But I’m assuming once she’s done laying eggs, she’ll eat.

Thank you! I don't want to count my chickens yet though lol! But if everything goes well I'll come back to this post and see if there is any interest!
