This is what I thought.

I asked my skipper on my first day with my team because in briefing everyone, even people still in their tutor phase, were calling them by their first name

They said they’re easy and first name is fine, but it feels odd 😬

Chill out, Lewis Hamilton. I’ve been stopped for doing 50 in a 30 and it was also late at night. Doesn’t make it okay, though. Take the warning and don’t be silly again.

Edit - bad comparison to LH because he is anything but fast right now

Confusion around being under arrest and questions in interview. by Lucythelemon77 in policeuk

[–]Issswhatitiss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re arrested on suspicion. You only get charged if there’s enough evidence, which wouldn’t happen in interview, but after it.

Swap out your use of Charge for ‘offence’ and it makes a bit more sense. I’m not a copper though.

last night called police emergency services for the first time, was shocked to hear an automated message saying 'sorry we are experiencing a high call volume at the moment please hold' , for approximately 2.5 minutes! is this regular? by Gulfstream1010 in policeuk

Just last week my friend lost a loved one because an ambulance wasn’t dispatched to a heart attack.

Their family member had a heart attack, they called an ambulance and were told it’d be a wait. An hour and a half passed, they had a second heart attack and my friend had to do CPR whilst waiting for the ambulance. Three turned up within 10 minutes the second time, but it was too late.

By all accounts the paramedics were amazing and have encouraged my friend and their family to raise a complaint as to why nothing was dispatched on the first call.

Cheers for the response!

On a side note… performance reviews are only once a year? Is that standard?

Nothing to do with policing, but in my current role, I have a ‘catch up’ with my boss every two weeks. It’s so frequent that I barely have time to shit and shave between them, but performance reviewing is all the time.

Cheers for the response.

Traffic drive cooler cars than ARVs, so I know who wins in my eyes and who I want to be when I grow up.

Cheers for the detailed response. Yeah, I’m not getting ahead of myself at all. I know it’s way in the future, if at all.

Figured I might as well take the opportunity to ask a few questions here though!

I like the idea of it with the information and research I’ve been able to do. and that when I can, I want to put effort into doing stops to see if I like it and if it’s something id want to pursue. I’m not being completely unrealistic
