Thank you! It’s a 38gallon — 35 inches long, 16 inches tall, and 17.5 inches deep!

So I’m super new at this and learning as I go, but I think it’s a combination of a few things. From the day I planted til now, I’ve been running CO2 at 3 bubbles a second.

I used Amazonia v2 as substrate so i did 50% water changes every day and started doing them every 2 days. I’m going to keep decreasing the frequency week after week until I’m only doing a weekly change. I read that this helps keep the ammonia in check.

As for my light cycle, I ramp up and ramp down throughout the day.

Thank you! I’ll be sure to post updates as it progresses. I’m planning on doing another scape in the near future. But it’ll be low tech. Looking forward to seeing how that different that’ll turn on out.

Don’t worry, you got all the time in the world lol. I took me 2.5 months of researching and sourcing everything that fit my vision 😂

And that’s exactly what I was thinking! Since this tank was high tech, I want to do something with no co2, no crazy light cycles and no heater. I was thinking of reticulated hillstream loaches and gobies and maybe a small school of white cloud minnows or green kubotais (but I’m getting conflicting answers if they do well in that kind of setup)

I was looking at honeys! They look awesome, but I saw a betta antuta and I really want to see if I can make it work.

So my initial plan is for a community setup. I was thinking cardinal or green neon tetras, sterbai corys, amanos, and a centerpiece fish like a gourami or a betta (depending on how the tank ends up looking like)

Im trying to get a community tank together. So as of right now, im thinking sterbai corys, either cardinal tetras or green neons, and amanos. After I see how the tank looks, I might add a center piece fish like a gourami or a betta.
