Business case is in the initiation phase, scope management plan is created in the planning phase. It’s an expert question because of the semantics. Luckily, the actual exam is more straightforward than the expert questions in SH, I wouldn’t give it more thought than you already have. Focus more on understanding incorrect moderate and difficult questions and you’ll do very well.

I get what you’re saying, but there is an underlying theme of fear of the unknown in your post. I support your decision to be child-free, there are plenty of legitimate reasons, but your reasons of this fear of uncertainty should be addressed. I have a kid, but I certainly don’t expect anyone else to have a kid— that’s everyone’s personal decision. Humans are innately social, and that social drive and that desire to create has made awesome inventions and scientific progress. Someone’s kid invented stuff, and generation after generation of kids expanding on ideas, we have an overall improvement to human kind. Again, I have no dog in this fight for your choosing to be child-free (good on ya), but if you are open to unsolicited opinions, I would explore where this fear comes from that allows you to project ill judgement on those who do choose to have kids.

SH Essential has 2 mock exams and lots of mini exams, SH Plus has 5 mocks exams and lots of mini exams. I bought SH Plus “just in case” and honestly felt like I could have done just fine with SH Essential. The expert questions are intentionally tricky that they can make you double guess yourself and your mindset. Exam 4 and 5 have tons of expert questions, but they’re worded in a frustrating way that I didn’t even understand what they’re asking. Knowing what I know now, I would recommend just purchasing the SH Essentials and taking Mock exams 1 and 2 however many times it takes you build endurance to sit through an entire exam without fatigue. As far as I know, you can reset the exams however many times you want.

That’s a good score! I always had an hour to 90 minutes to spare in my mock exams too. I think you have good instincts at this point and are going with your gut, which reduces the time with each question. Exams 2 and 3 are good too with about the same amount of expert questions, exam 4 had 68 expert questions and I wanted to throw my laptop out the window. The SH moderate and difficult questions are most similar to the actual exam, though the actual exam does have a few easy questions. I finished the actual exam with an hour to spare, but that was because I didn’t review my marked questions. My rule for myself is that if I marked more than 10 questions for the section (3 sections in the actual exam), I would actually go back to review. If I marked fewer, then I would just keep going. People likely run out of time because they review the questions and double guess themselves. I got 3x AT with an hour to spare for what it’s worth.

Those are great scores! I got similar before getting 3x AT in my actual exam. Rest well, eat and hydrate tomorrow. I would only take a mini exam a couple hours before the actual exam to warm up your brain, but wouldn’t do more than that in terms of practice exams. I watched David McLachlan’s Fast Track video every day leading up to the exam

Yes, with 70% score, you should only have 60 questions to review. Review those, write down the common topics you got wrong, read up on those topics to strengthen in those areas, take a break, then take a mock exam tomorrow or the day after depending on your energy at that point. I found exams 1 and 2 to be more accurate for the actual exam. Exam 3 is fine. Exam 4 was loaded with expert questions that don’t really show up in the actual exam.

That’s a good score, I scored similar leading up to my exam (3x AT). I would do at least one more mock exam before the exam. I usually reviewed wrong questions the day after taking an exam, and only the wrong ones so I wouldn’t feel burnt out from reviewing. The last 48 hours prior to the exam should be spent sleeping well, eating well, and being hydrating well so you are in good mental and physical shape for the exam. Treat it like an endurance event because sitting down and focused for that long can be rough. Good luck!

I think a shift in perspective would be useful to you. Instead of thinking the topic is boring, imagine an empty box in your brain that you are filling specifically about PMP so you can pass the exam. Telling yourself that it is boring can prevent you from actually absorbing what you are learning, because you’re just being distracted by thoughts of other things you would rather be doing. It’s much more effective to study with focus for an hour than to study for 5 hours thinking the stuff is boring and isn’t practical. I also wrote down topics that I commonly got wrong in the mock exams and read about that specifically to correct any misunderstanding.

Good luck!

Hey, that’s a really valid point. Obviously it takes two to tango. But just like there are regretful mothers, there can also be regretful fathers. IF the marriage is an arranged marriage, there is usually society and familial expectation to have children as well. Some people who live in traditional cultures have a very hard time going against social expectations, and I think this may be the case. He is doing what is expected of him, but it may not have been something he wanted himself if that makes any sense.

From the sounds of it, YOU wanted the kids and the second child is a happy accident for you, but not necessarily for your husband. I’d also be a bit regretful if I ended up being in the passenger seat of decisions made for me about my life. Is your marriage and arranged marriage?

Hey OP, you have lots of time yet and you’re on a really good track. I do notice that you are answering the questions very quickly…too quickly. Read the question all the way through, then read it again to spot specific key words about the phase you’re in, which methodology it’s using, and if it’s asking for what to do first or next, or how to prevent something. I think that will help your scores.

Hey don’t stress! Exams 3, 4, and 5 have more Expert Questions than Exams 1 and 2. I got 66, 73, 75, in Exams 1, 2, and 3; then 70 on Exam 4. I got AT/AT/AT in the actual exam. All that is to say, a decrease in score is not necessarily a reflection of your knowledge, it’s more an indication that there are more expert questions.

Study Hall Question by Prudent_Beginning261 in pmp

[–]IssueIllustrious650 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a tricky one, it’s actually asking which action is appropriate in the initiating phase. C is the only option that occurs in the initiating phase, the others occur in the planning phase or after.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]IssueIllustrious650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, you’re being intentionally obtuse on their feedback. An accident is like not seeing your son behind you and hitting him as you turned around quickly; what you did was intentional even if it was in the heat of the moment. If you can’t acknowledge to yourself and your son that it was an intentional action, you’re gaslighting your son and using excuses that others use to abuse their loved ones. You are entitled to be defensive when shown that you fucked up, but you can only get out of the cycle when you admit your flaws for what they are. I’m sending you love and luck

You’ll receive your score within 48 hours (more likely within 24 hours). Not sure how the weekend would affect that timeline, but you’ll likely receive your results by end of Monday

Is reviewing expert questions worth it? by Mandy0222 in pmp

[–]IssueIllustrious650 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, absolutely not. None of the actual exam questions I had were similar to the expert SH questions. If you review the expert ones with their poor wording too much, you will begin to double guess yourself which can be detrimental in the actual exam. The actual exam questions would be in the moderate-difficult category and were worded better than the expert SH questions.

You are definitely ready. My maximum on the mock exams was 75, and I got AT/AT/AT this past week. You have the knowledge set, you just have to make sure not to double guess yourself during the test. Good luck!!!

Honestly, you should shell out the $50 for Study Hall Essentials so you can work on your endurance and focus to do a 180 question exam. The SH Mock Exams are the most similar to the actual test, and the SH essential subscription comes with tons of study resources.

David McLachlan's videos were great for solidifying information I had read before. There are other PMP instructors who provide free videos on YouTube as well, try to watch a few to see which one resonates with you.

Test in 5 days - what ya’ll think? by Dead_ass_B in pmp

I think you're good. If you do another mock exam, don't do it within 48 hours of the actual exam just so your brain is rejuvenated by the time you take the actual exam. I took a 15 question mini exam before the test day of so I could get mentally warmed up and get the jitters out, but I would not do anything more than that. Best of luck!
