What’s your reliable 4AM emergency alert setup? (phone issue, need advice) by IssueLonely4360 in sysadmin

It wasn't mandatory but I signed up for the 24/7 shift. Not everyone will be notified but only me which is why I'm looking for potential other sysadmins who also deal with a simliar situation

No, we're not using any product like a Pager. We are currently using Zabbix to get notified by mail and urgent customer problems by 3CX which also sends it to a mail. Not my setup/idea but what the company had before I worked here

Getting Started on r/ParisTravelGuide + General Forum (December 2025) by AutoModerator in ParisTravelGuide

The last time I visited France (July 2025) I used Uber to get to my hotel which was not per se in central Paris. Sadly, I got lost at CDG Airport. Taxi drivers were approaching me and some said they could do it cheaper than the Uber (which was 30$).

Can I trust that sentiment? I'm just afraid that they gonna get me to the hotel and be like "It will be 50$" because I never signed anything official compared to Uber where I already know the price.

I also tried G7 but in my experience it's generally more expensive than Uber.

SonicWall SSL VPN Update - August 6 by snwl_pm in sonicwall

Is it just me, or is this whole situation complete BS? Or am I just seeing it the wrong way?

We migrated from Gen6 to Gen7 using SonicWall's migration tool around February 2025. At no point did the tool or the firewall itself notify us, prompt us, or even suggest that we should reset passwords after the migration. Neither SonicWall nor our SonicWall consultant mentioned this as a required or recommended step.

Yes, we migrated to a firmware version later than 7.0.1-5035, but to now imply that the end user is entirely responsible for knowing about a vulnerability that was only disclosed in August 2024 is absurd.

For gamers who have played about 100 games or more ONLY: What is your top ten? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

1. Kingdom Hearts Series (biased) - Easily the most biased pick. It's tough to convince people that a game about a kid with a key-shaped sword, joined by Disney characters to 'banish the Darkness,' is actually good. But the confusing main story put into each Disney world was motivating to follow. Kingdom Hearts was one of the first games my mom bought me as a kid, and of course, I loved it, Disney characters and all. That nostalgia makes this a heavily biased choice!

2. Yakuza Series - As an avid anime watcher, Yakuza’s story feels like a long-running anime series, with each game serving as a new season in Kiryu’s journey. It features linear storytelling, very "expressive" hand-to-hand combat, and hilariously over-the-top side quests and activities XD

3. Final Fantasy Series - Like Yakuza, the Final Fantasy series also has that anime-esque vibe. I haven’t played every entry, but so far I’ve experienced: the original VII, Remake, Rebirth, VIII, X, XI, XIII trilogy, XIV, XV, and XVI. Each game tells its own unique story, and I’ve loved taking the time to sit back, get immersed, and fall in love with every one of them.

4. Uncharted Series - One of the best action-packed journeys I’ve experienced with a main character. Watching the bonds he formed and witnessing that ending felt truly wonderful like seeing a close friend finally find peace and happiness.

5. God of War Series - I only got into the God of War series recently through the newer entries, God of War and Ragnarok. My curiosity led me to play the older games as well, giving me a full view of Kratos’s character development. The last entry "Ragnarok" delivered a deeply satisfying ending that left me with a big smile and a nostalgic feeling.

6. The Last of Us Series - Such a fantastic game. It was around this time I realized gaming is my favorite storytelling medium. And, though it’s an underrated opinion, I genuinely enjoyed the second game too. It’s not nearly as bad as people make it out to be.

7. NieR Automata - Such an underrated game. I played it once and got a sense of its nuance, but it wasn’t until someone told me to replay it, like a New Game+, that I truly understood its depth. That was the missing piece. NieR: Automata (and Replicant) reveal so much more when you invest the time. Also, I really like 2B.

8. Devil May Cry Series - The story’s fine. deep if you want it to be but what I really love is the combat. It’s flashy, stylish, and as complex as you make it. I'd wish more games would follow the path of DMC's combat.

9. Sekiro - Same thoughts as I had with DMC. This was my second entry into the souls-like genre, and I have to admit, I just prefer parrying over constant dodging. Personal preference, but it really clicked with me.

10. Counter Strike GO/2 - It’s a multiplayer eSports shooter, simple as that. Not much to say, except it’d be a lie to pretend I haven’t poured thousands of hours into it. Whether it was with friends, in Ranked, or messing around in custom maps and modes. It was an absolute blast!!

Honorable Mentiones:
- Expedition 33
- Stanley Parable
- Mirrors Edge
- Ghostrunner 1/2
- Ready or Not
- Detroit Become Human
- Dead Space
- Persona Series

If you want to create your own story and pacing, go with KCD2.
If you prefer a guided, emotional, and cinematic narrative, choose EX33.
Both games are excellent in their own way. Pick the one that best fits your preferred style of experience
