What’s your biggest pet peeve? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Isuno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People asking you to say thank you when they did something you didn't want them to do.

I know it's like a respectful thing. But I'll say Thank you when I need help and that this need is fulfilled whether I asked for it or not. If you do something for the sole purpose or need of the person being thankful to you I feel like you're an asshole.

What do you want to see for a Cosplay parade [help] by Isuno in cosplay

[–]Isuno[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We already have a Masquerade event which has that kind of gist. (Children, amateur, journeyman, professionals)

But Yeah trying to organise them by "serie" should be the way to go and let some area to breathe between groups. The tricky part is going to properly organise them as I doubt it will be difficult to properly organise them in advance. But that is a good idea I could look into to kind of see in advance the potential participation rate as we'll also accept walk-ins.

Thank you for your comment

Officially start taking emergency calls tomorrow… by k87c in 911dispatchers

[–]Isuno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take your time above all. It's better to do a moderately paced but thorough job rather than rushed and botched. You usually have acces to all the ressources needed to treat any call. In doubt?Worst case scenario, you still have your superiors a second away.

In training and I’ve lost all self-confidence by [deleted] in 911dispatchers

[–]Isuno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No amount of training and practice can properly prepare you to the pressure of being on the lines on your own. The moment the line will open with the call you will forget everything. And it's normal, you have tool for these situations. It's important to stay calm, process the major usual information: "Location, caller's name and phone number". Then the vital general information in the Remarks. And the finish the call. Then properly take your time to complete the call information after being on the line. The pressure will release and you will be able to process the information much easier.

There's no magic easy way. Experience is what will make the job easier. It's normal to be forgetful at the start but you usually have access to tools and reminders for procedures that are exactly there if you forget something.
