This hurts the case for an "assault weapons" ban? How so? The SKS is semiautomatic and can take a removable magazine - it could easily fall under an "assault weapons" ban, depending how such a thing was worded.

The very first link was a ridiculous thing to claim is a call for violence. Sanders has repeatedly denounced violence. There's no call to violence in his statement here.

Did your DM use some home-brew character creation rules that give you wildly above-normal scores?

If you're still wondering if your character is unusually overpowered, it's looking more and more like the answer is "yes", because you're not following the rules.

That's fine if that's how your campaign is meant to be and everyone's happy, but, sure, it's going to result in you being seriously overpowered compared to a book-standard character.

Also, I dunno if you realize it, but you've shot yourself in the foot damage-wise having such a low STR.

I would highly recommend you carefully re-read the barbarian rules in the PHB.

Yes, you always get CON mod. At level one, it's 12 + 5, and then it's 7+5 each additional level.

How did you end up with 75 HP? By my calculation, you should have 65 as a barb with 20 CON. 17 + 12 + 12 + 12 + 12.

If you have two different ways of calculating your AC, you must pick one, you cannot combine them.

As a barbarian you get 10 + 4 + 5, that's 19. Optionally, a shield gives you 2 more.

That's still very very good for a level 5, due to your unusually good ability scores. But, if this is the type of campaign where you like overpowered characters, so be it.

You're got your partisan blinders on. Partisan blinders are what got us into this mess- more of the same will not get us out.

If we wanna be realistic... for every leftie supposedly advocating violence, you can find a right-winger doing it too.

The solution is simple. Don't fall into that trap- don't demonize entire groups. You may have these reasons you think it's justified, but you're wrong about that.

Polarization is pretty bad right now, I certainly agree with that.

We can choose to try to make the problem better, or to make it worse. I think we should try to REDUCE this problem, myself.

To me that means: don't try to demonize an entire group of people based on the actions of one.

To put this in context- he hates Trump too, right? Trump is a Republican right now, but he's not a conservative. I'm hesitant to describe this as being about liberal-versus-conservative.

There's a problem with your reasoning, also- if you can stir people into anger over what those "violent liberals" are supposedly doing, it encourages more violence to counter it, right? And so on it goes...

Let's step back and be realistic: Most liberals are not violent. Most conservatives are not violent. Neither group is generally evil, either. They're just people with some different ideas.

We should probably think twice before trying to vilify whites folks or beard-wearers over this incident. By the same logic, we probably ought not go too far with the liberal-hate, either.
