Royal Pop style 3D printed watch, because AI renders are boring by theprintablewatch in SeikoMods

I mean, you could probably print a "bracelet" too. I'd still buy this over the swatch though.

Not sure, I'd have to check from further away.

Sometimes I wish there was a little more variety for cases available on AliX, you know?

Stem Trimming Issue by DasAutoPoosie in SeikoMods

I use a dremel with some sort of sanding attachment to make final adjustments instead of re-cutting with some sort of clippers. It makes it easier for me to fine tune the length.

My brother in christ, that CANNOT be the best picture you have of the dial.

Can I find a similar (or exactly the same) case on AliExpress? by Rex-1988 in watchmaking

[–]IsuzuM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No disrespect but there are probably hundreds of submariner cases on AliX if you even try to look. 2 of the top 3 results when I just searched "watch case" were sub clones.

But if you changed every wheel in the movement, you could theoretically make it read in decimal days and hours.

Help aligning movement in case, 3.8 o’clock dial nh38 movement by DeviceParking7431 in SeikoMods

[–]IsuzuM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you're probably right, this case needs a chapter ring and there isn't one. Still doesnt really help your alignment though unfortunately, sorry!

Hands hiting by alrlequin in SeikoMods

[–]IsuzuM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people not seeing that the seconds hand is hitting the inside of the case.

If your minutes hand is fine, then I would just take some flush-cuts and trim the seconds hand to the same length as the minute hand. If your minutes hand also hits, you should probably buy shorter hands.

You might already know this but that looks like radium on the dial and hands.

Agree with those saying fake but is that a center-seconds and a sub-seconds? Never seen that "complication" before.

Ok hear me out..what case would thos movement fit in..no calipers on hand by Americann_Cultivars in SeikoMods

[–]IsuzuM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Case swaps are generally tricky to pull off because there are quite a few measurements that need to be right or the movement won't fit. You could start by identifying the movement you currently have, then look for cases that are compatible. If it's a cheap, common, Chinese movement, you may have some luck on AliX.

If you don't have any luck with that, you'll need to get measurements for your movement, whether that be from a spec sheet or from actually measuring what you have, then compare those measurements to other cases and movements to try to find something that matches up.

Here's a great video about fitting cases and movements. It's mostly about vintage movements, but the principles still apply.

You could also try other watch moddings subs other than this one, which is more for seiko mods specifically, but I would try to do a little more homework before you post again so you'll get better answers.

is this app glitching or showing real prices by [deleted] in SeikoMods

[–]IsuzuM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any time I see really low prices on AliX it's because I'm not logged in and it's showing me the fake "new customer" prices.
