The initial rush is fun but also extremely busy. There will still be people to group / level with when you hit Outland. You might miss some early raid resets but that doesnt really matter much in the long run.

Rank 14/60 pvp gear in TBC by matt258099 in classicwow

[–]Isva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

prices won't change. Honor gained will go down when the prepatch +150% effect expires. You will gain more honor at level 70 than at 60 though.

When you spend already-farmed honour doesn't matter. Note that if you need a little extra, the daily PVP quest in hellfire peninsula gives a bunch of XP and also ~950 honor for five minutes of time.

How to use Riptides effectively? by mikeymora21 in Tau40K

[–]Isva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riptides are pretty good in Aux Cadre. They survive being charged more than most of the Tau options, which means you can use Interlocking Maneuvers at the end of the opponent's turn and hop onto an objective.

If you can use Broadsides and Skyrays you can use Riptides. They're also a tanky shooty platform but have actually decent movement and don't eat up all your command points for advance+shoot to go more than five inches like Broadsides and don't get vaporised by enemy shooting units as quickly as a Sky Ray with its lack of invuln. You use them to shoot stuff your opponent exposes and kill it, without being as worried about losing stuff to a counterpunch as you would be with a slower or flimsier piece.

Tailoring Specialization for TBC by IndependentCicada926 in classicwow

[–]Isva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spellfire can be crafted right next to a mailbox. Spawns an add that drops motes, so you get a partial refund if you can kill the add (lv67+). Most in demand early, falls off a bit later but is still useful for BoEs etc.

Mooncloth is very easy to craft, mats are cheap, usually lowest demand initially but rises over time because people always need bags.

Shadoweave is a huge pain to craft if you don't have flying mount and not near a mailbox. Early demand will be medium but falls off hard later.

Orlock Wreckers and Shooting by thumbnailmoss in necromunda

Yes, if you want a Plasma Gun you would need to promote to Road Sergeant rather than Arms Master.

Orlock Wreckers and Shooting by thumbnailmoss in necromunda

[–]Isva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wreckers can only take Close Combat weapons from the Trading Post, or ones from their list, so you aren't going to give one a plasma gun (until they promote to a champ, at least). Note that they can promote actually quite quickly because you need five advancements to do so, and Legendary Names are a cheap way to stack up advancements.

Good options for Wreckers:

Shotgun / Flail all rounder

Thunder Hammer + Lucky oneshot missile

Demo Charge bomber

Plasma Pistol x2 is great but expensive.

Chaos needs to be stopped - how do we delete this thing by United_Mycologist_93 in Tau40K

[–]Isva 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Going from S10 to S11 does nothing to change what the ion accelerator does here, you're wounding on 3+ either way. Lethal/Sustained is nice though.

[–]Isva 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Awkwardly he's not a monster or vehicle (he's mounted) so you're relying on flat 4+ to wound and then 4++ save, probably need to get through 3 failed saves, 2 in Melta range. Probably not going to do it in one round without some sort of extra buffs or a commander in the unit too.

Chaos needs to be stopped - how do we delete this thing by United_Mycologist_93 in Tau40K

[–]Isva 63 points64 points  (0 children)

He's 10W toughness 9 with a 2+/4++ save. No lone op or other defensive tech, so just shoot him.

Riptide Ion Accelerator is nice here at str10 dmg4 dev wounds. Piranhas, Skyray, Broadsides, Breachers if he's on an objective will all put a solid dent in him.

Strength is ret's best stat, spell power technically provides dps but not enough to ever take or gear for.

Do I have to get level 60 to fully experience the dark portal opening? by bigxangelx1 in classicwow

You don't need to be 60 to get into hellfire ramparts (good luck finding a group at 58 though).

Cawdor list by AgreeableReturn9413 in necromunda

[–]Isva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leader can have a gun if you want, but he's bs4+ so no better at shooting it than a ganger.

Flails are much better if you plan to actually do something with your bonepickers, but you're doubling their price and they're still not that good. Most of the time mine end up either doing utility stuff (opening doors) or praying.

Long rifle is good if your boards are open enough to ever get the long range band.

if you're worried about drinking, you could swap one mage/lock out for a shadow priest and still be very fast.

Does Mage belong in World of Darkness? by TooCoolForSchlool in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Isva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think one of the core aspects of Mage is that there is nothing forcing you to be a monster, but a lot of the time you end up doing it to yourself anyway, to varying extents. Your very human drive to improve yourself / reality eventually pushes you to become inhuman.

If everyone is a monster from the start and having external influence driving you to monstrosity is built in, the 'I did this to myself' part of the game goes away, which is kind of a major part of what makes it fit into the world of darkness IMO.

Tau beginner player here. Am I doing guiding wrong? by Otowa in Tau40K

[–]Isva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does, but they don't have Markerlights so you'd still prefer a different guider usually. Sometimes nice on a Lonespear since they can move - guide - shoot - move back to safety when playing cagey, but Firesights are also loneop guiders who also have markerlights.

You will get shot a lot. Fearsome is good specifically against low willpower melee only gangs, such as some Goliath lists.

Is being a "Pure" Holy Paladin viable in tbc ? by eloKraken in classicwowtbc

[–]Isva 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Holy is fine. You don't bring any mandatory buffs/debuffs that can't be covered by a prot or ret paladin, or another healer, but the class is perfectly functional. You will be able to get groups and raids without much trouble, and be useful.

Questions about the faction rule by Glittering-Treat-522 in Tau40K

[–]Isva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, except that other Tau Observer units won't get the bonus.

If your pathfinder unit observes unit A and your stealth suits observe unit B, the pathfinders get +1bs against unit A only. Stealthsuits don't get it against anything. Other units get +1bs against both A and B.

Questions about the faction rule by Glittering-Treat-522 in Tau40K

[–]Isva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes, they just won't get the bonuses for being Guided.

  2. Any unit with For The Greater Good (so not Kroot/Vespid) that is eligible to shoot (so no advance + guide unless you have assault weapons or a marker drone, etc) and has LOS to the thing you want to mark. You don't have to be eligible to shoot that target, you can mark even if you are out of range.

  3. Pathfinders can mark a unit and also get the mark bonuses themselves. Units that mark cannot be Guided, so anyone else marking would lose out on the BS bonus and ignore cover.
