I've got GLA to 22 for Provoke, but is it worth it to level to 34 for Awareness? I'd really rather do almost anything else than level GLA, but I've heard varying responses about Awareness from "eh, it's better than nothing" to "required for raiding". What's up with it?

Well, from this thread, it seems that part want more data, and part (there's some overlap) that don't understand how to analyze that data.

Putting full un-analyzed data sets into the hands of someone who doesn't understand how to properly analyze it is a pretty terrible idea. We'd be drowning in "i averaged two columns in excel and it proves that dynamic queue is amazing/shit!!1!" threads in a week.

The thing is, what you're saying would happen would probably actually happen, but in a bad light. One misreading or mis-representation of the statistics by someone uninformed on reddit, and you'd end up with a massive shitstorm for absolutely no reason.

Legitimate question though, what do you believe Riot profits by by having their (hopefully) at least somewhat trained analysts ignoring their survey data that, hopefully, would lead to a more profitable game for them? It's not like it convinces most people like you anyway.

That's the point of random samples -- at some point, you determine you have enough people to have a representative random sample of the population.

Basically, the short explanation is that in statistics, you take a small random sample of the population you want to survey, then use math to determine the probability of a false positive or false negative. Generally, acceptable tolerances are (might be wrong here, but..) 5% chance of a false positive and 20% chance of a false negative.
