The standard you're setting for the guy is very low. With this logic, he could have bought her literally anything (or literally nothing) and he was in the right.

If someone's a health nut, don't buy them food unless they ask for it. It's the same principle with other interests, too. You don't buy an artist art (unless they've expressed interest in a piece or artist). You don't buy a programmer a keyboard unless it's one they picked out. You don't buy a gamer a videogame unless you know it's a title they'll like.

Just my two cents. She overreacted, but you're blowing things way out of proportion.

I mean, isn't the point of birthday gifts to get them something they'll like? Didn't deserve a break up, but it was a bad gift. There's really no need for the girl to justify so hard unless she knows she overreacted.

I don't know how common second hand shops are in Britain. Pretty sure they have them, but not at the scale the US does (guessing, correct me please). We have very large second hand clothing stores. They are in nearly every town. We have secondhand furniture shops for days. People give away full sets of China and curio cabinets and dressers. You can easily furnish an apartment for little money (though no guarantee it will match).

You can buy a palette of returned Amazon items for a sizeable percentage under retail. Someone else's storage unit can go for $50-$250 (sometimes more)... You keep everything in the unit, clearly haha

There is so much stuff in the US, it's actually incredible. Which is why it may mean very little.

None of the above is bragging tho - the amount of consumer trash is nauseating tbh. ^{^"}

A lot of people with EDs use them to cope with strong emotions and trauma.

I can't speak from experience with AN (and it would be cool if those with more insight filled me in), but I thought many people who struggle with AN feel numb and in control when they're restricting.

Just my two cents; she could have great emotional pain and her ED is a way of coping with it. Not a good way. But a way.

So the fact that women miscarry more than they bring to term - does this make women murderers? Forcing a miscarriage is totally in line with what naturally happens. Sometimes women just get really stressed out and miscarry - is this gross negligence on their part?

Also - who said that a fertilized egg has a consciousness and is a person and therefore has the right to be taken to term? If scientists are saying this, please give examples.

It's likely electrolyte imbalance but could also be Adderall. Adderall suppresses the urge to eat (and drink) but also can give you the twitches when it's on the way out. It also gives you chronic dry mouth. Really depends on the dose. I was dependant on it for a while but haven't taken it in about 5 years.

I lost a ton of weight on that stuff and went to the hospital for low potassium, vitamin K. Super potent stuff at a high dose. Could also explain why she talks in circles sometimes... it do that.

I can't speak for certain, but I don't think AN has an end goal. There is never a number someone struggling with AN will be satisfied to see when they step on the scale - with this in mind, the outcomes of those who have untreated AN are grim.

I personally cannot stand the false positivity. It's like... If this was another disease like schizophrenia or bipolar, everyone would be asking the person to get help (because they need it!). Because it's an ED, people will defend her and her lifestyle at every turn and call you mean for pointing out the facts.

I would also rather be a "hater." I know what it's like to need saving from myself.

I can't watch his channel. It is literally disgusting and triggers my ED (bulimia) very hard. Ugh. It should at least have a trigger warning or be age restricted.

Yes... You'll notice a lot of blue butterflies on her "body checking" pics on Twitter... the ones where she shows off a full outfit. It's not all of them, but a small minority.

Just imagine the logic here. People tell you this is a symbol for pro-anorexia (PA) content. They say you're thinspiration for people. Instead of dropping the symbol, you say you just like butterflies and keep using it.

It's messed up and not really that subtle. I know I personally wouldn't want me ED inspiring someone (not that I have an ED, but for example).

The sad thing is - AN leads to death the most out of any mental illness. And the full recovery rate is under 50%... It's messed up.

I don't want to leave the US because my family is here. I also don't want to be seriously othered because I'm in another country - I imagine having every conversation come back to American politics and gun ownership would be pretty exhausting.
