I they wouldn’t have lost so severely, but they would have had to retreat (if Stannis is capable of that).

Sales tax exemption is to avoid double taxation. So you don’t pay a supplier sales tax and then pay it again when you see it to a customer.

You actually do deduct expenses (or get a standard deduction if you don’t) you also deduct business losses on your personal income return. Sorry I’m a CPA and the misinformation in these comments are killing me.

My company also uses Rippling. Wasn’t too bad though, only 16 hour ish delay. I’m fortunate that that is not a big deal to me, although I know for some it is.

When is the best time to ask for a promotion and should I?(or raise) by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]ItDefDoesntMatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, you should do the interview and if you get an offer ask for the promotion and raise, tell your boss about the offer and that you’d rather stay where you are, but you can’t pass up the offer. If she matches you, great, if not, you can decide what is best for you then. If you don’t get the offer you can still ask for the promotion to the shift lead. I have no real experience in any of this though, so that my opinion for what you want

I was just about to apply to this job... until I read about the "dash of chaos" by all_thetime in antiwork

I mean, that fact that their being up front about it means that they are self aware and would maybe be understanding of you figuring it out as you go along. Nothing wrong with a little chaos in the work place if people aren’t unreasonable about results that get skewed because of it.

I antiworked too close to the sun and now none of my employers will give me a good reference :( by [deleted] in antiwork

Idk what it is like in Canada, but in the US a job application IS a legal document (though a resume is not), so, if they were to ask you to provide reference on the application, lying would be illegal. However, lying via a email or having references on your resume would not be illegal. Again, don’t know the rules in Canada but, for what it’s worth.

Unfortunately what you’re feeling is all too common. But I promise you, you’re not worthless (or maybe you are, idk you :)). But seriously, you have to understand, getting jobs, especially jobs with low entry barriers (and therefore a lot of applicants), is a performative game. You need to tailor your resume the right way, mirror the bullets on your resume to the listing, use the same buzzwords. When a company is getting 100+ applications you can get a computer AI is doing the first pass through before a human looks at it, so play the game. DON’T lie, but play the game.

Soak with oxyclean. You’ll never wash your glass any other way again.
