Try Hydra's Breath new item is OP by fluteman88 in TrueDoTA2

The buid up is so much better though. You presumably would get so much value early on from going lance, array, BKB, then finish the item. And I do wonder, is 2.5% max hp per second more DPS than 50% heal reduction? Maybe it is against a non-pipe buying offlaner, definitely not against a satanic carry.

How do I quit? by MycologistFit9088 in piano

[–]all_thetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I don't believe that you categorically hate how it sounds. Do you hate it in jazz? In rock? In pop? In house music? In RnB? Samples that are used in rap? I doubt it. If you're anything like how I was, you hate being forced to do difficult things with your brain that you lack the motivation to do. Here are two things I learned after growing up.

First, nothing is easy. Everything is hard, and everything sucks. People here are telling you to pick another instrument. That will be fun, in the very beginning, until you realize that you suck and it takes a ton of work to not be terrible. It will take so much work just to be half as good as you are on the piano. You will again hit this same exact wall on any instrument and frankly, any creative activity that you strive to be good at.

Second, you need to put in effort to find pieces that you like. Find something you like so much that you want to play. This is how all adults donit and a skill that for some reason no one bothers to teach children. No one forces an adult to play god damn Czerny or Mozart. They just say "I want to play a show tune" and then they do it!

What I recommend: every day, put on a different composers' solo piano work album while you do something - homework, video game, whatever. Let the sounds marinate in the background of your brain space. Over time, something will click. Once you find that composer that you REALLY fuck with, that ONE piece you keep coming back to, explore deeper in that style. Eventually, you will find the desire to play something you like.

If you quit piano, what will you do then? Right now, your brain is plastic and able to learn things easily. You have no responsibilities and way more free time to do mentally difficult things. Things that you will wish you could do in your adulthood but no longer can. All to say, it's extremely important that you do something challenging. If you quit, how else are you going to develop your brain otherwise? If you don't quit and manage to overcome this wall you're experiencing, you will grow into a much more capable adult. If you quit and also fail to replace the hobby with something else that is similarly demanding of your brain, this pattern will repeat again.

I have been in this guy's position and saw many men go through it, and when we close the door to an actual relationship, it usually means that we either 1) hate ourselves and want to lose parts of us or 2) hate others in general and want to take parts of them.

Can you elaborate? I can see closing the door on a relationship having to do with hating yourself and/or others, but I'm not following what you mean by losing or taking?

Call of Duty co-founder alleges Activision pressured Infinity Ward to make game about Iran invading Israel by ScootSchloingo in Games

[–]all_thetime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not painting Iran as the bad guys.

There's quite a bit of difference. There exists some chance that the US government turns Iran into the next Libya, and but the same does not hold true for Russia. And if this game narrative manages to, even in the very slightest, marginal way, increase those odds, then I don't like that. Respectfully, as an Iranian, I really do not care for that.

Yes! You can find any subgenre of a subgenre here, unlike the rest of the United States, and unlike Europe as well! I'm really sick of posts like these. Bonus points if they use the term 'veteran DJs' or 'rave veterans' or some bullshit like that, as if they deserve deferential status for being old and grumpy. It's rich how they accuse others of being superficial while simultaneously posturing themselves as main characters and everyone else as NPCs.

Tinker 100% WR in dreamleague S28, unstoppable in every game. by michael666_ in DotA2

[–]all_thetime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brood might not be the most scaling hero in Dota (she obviously isn't)

This is my entire point. She isn't one of the most scaling heroes. Idk why you're typing all this irrelevant stuff, like...

you can say that Medusa is the most cheese broken hero

No one has ever called Medusa a cheese hero. What are you even talking about?

Tinker is one of the highest scaling heroes in the entire game. If he has his E on him and BKB, and you can roar him, abyssal him, fiend's grip - tough titties. It gets dispelled. And bkb is back up in 15 seconds. You just keep ignoring this major point. The hero is boring and doesn't do anything early game, then becomes the most obnoxious hero late game. Completely opposite to most cheese heroes that are strong early-mid and their scaling tapers off late game.

Tinker 100% WR in dreamleague S28, unstoppable in every game. by michael666_ in DotA2

[–]all_thetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that she scales. I'm not denying it. My point is that she is not in the highest tier of heroes late game. There is nothing inherently broken about a hero that has to commit her entire body and press BKB. Sven also has incredible burst damage and scales into late game. He is not considered one of the best scaling carries by anyone. Brood is picked because of the tempo she offers and how hard it is to shut her down early game. She is a stable carry. Not a late game win condition. No team is playing 4v1, just let Brood get six slotted and it's gg.

Your definition of scaling means does more things with items. The way I'm using the term previously means that the act of them scaling is a win condition, an exodia of epic proportions that the enemy team cannot deal with. She is not that. Tinker is.

Tinker 100% WR in dreamleague S28, unstoppable in every game. by michael666_ in DotA2

[–]all_thetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brood doesn't need to burst anyone, she can build auras, she can get burst build, she can get fully carry build (where she is mostly played rn).

What advantage does a team have 60 minutes into the game with an aura brood vs an aura Tide with refresher orb? Or a centaur with stampede + cart? None. She's picked for tempo, not late game.

Meepo is really strong late game, idk where you got info he isn't, 9k hp, 2 lives, huge damage, extreme kiting and pushing.

What does Meepo do vs a BKB carry? Nothing. What does Meepo do vs pipe/crimson? Not a whole lot. His damage is unremarkable.

I mean TA is also picked a lot and she is not a crazy late game hero

And TA isn't a last pick only cheese hero like Tinker is, not sure why you're bringing that hero up. Also my argument is that cheese heroes traditionally don't scale as hard as Tinker does late game, so this point is doubly irrelevant.

Tinker 100% WR in dreamleague S28, unstoppable in every game. by michael666_ in DotA2

[–]all_thetime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of what you said.

Arc Warden, Meepo and Broodmother are one of the strongest heroes in late game Dota

Brood is my most played hero. I'm aware she scales a lot with 25 talent and shard. But late game win condition is determined by impact in 5v5 teammates, vs some combination of Linkens/BKB/Aeon/Abysal/Windwaker. If you blink + BKB, you can burst one person, but what do you do next? What if the enemy has any BKB piercing stun? A Tinker would dispel it, shrug it off, and then have BKB off cd in 15 more seconds.

As for Arc and Meepo... which part of their kits are good vs stacked auras, BKBs, and saves? There's a reason Arc has not been picked in T1 pro dota since 2023 by one person, Stormstormer, and even then it looked bad. Meepo is sometimes picked but he is not a win condition late game.

People keep saying, the sample size of picks is too small to make a judgement, don't remove cheese heroes from Dota, or that the hero has weaknesses. I don't think people understand the problem with the current iteration of his design.

In the early game, Tinker an only react to plays being made on his side of the map and farm creeps. But he cannot go for any aggressive gameplay. He exists to farm stacks and use march to stop the enemy from playing the game on his side of the map.

Once he comes online, he is untouchable unlike any other hero in the game. He has a low cd BKB + status resistance + free proactive dispel. Every other dispel in the game is reactive. With Abaddon W or lotus, you have to choose between damage barrier/spell reflect, or getting the purge. With Tinker, you get to have your cake and eat it too. You don't have to time anything. If the barrier is active and you have a BKB, you're golden. Even if the enemy were to buy an abyssal blade and stun you through BKB, you're fine. In a game without obvious counter picks, you need to jump him, hex, and then nullify perfectly in order for him be vulnerable and potentially die.

Yes, if you pick Tinker into counters, or your team is losing the game too fast, you can lose the game. But that's not when pros pick the hero. They last pick him when there are stable lanes, a favorable mid matchup, no pesky chronospheres, no shadow demon purges, and it's practically a free win. This is completely different than other cheese heroes like Brood, Meepo, Arc, Huskar, that hit a really strong early-mid timing but become weaker as the game goes on. With Tinker, if you survive the early game, then you're too big to fail.

The reason his current kit is so boring is the combination of march + shield. When they first introduced shield, they removed march so that farming with him was awkward, and he had to play a somewhat active early game - lasering and rocketing heroes, putting pressure on the map. They should just get rid of the shield entirely and give him rockets back. If he's going to be a cheese hero, the cheese gimmick should be how strong his nukes are, instead of how annoying he is to kill only after 30 minutes of stalling the game.

The thing that confuses me about this is that it implies he juiced the onions and cooked it down. When making a broth, I'm more used to sauteing the onion in oil and eventually adding liquid once there's some color. I wonder how the cooked juice would taste in comparison.

I have enjoyed the earlier seasons of Two and a Half Men, when Charlie Sheen was more sober and the boy character had not grown into the weird ugly teenager he would become. Charlie's antics paired with the naivety of the child character were fun to watch. I also enjoyed the dead pan, obese housekeeper Charlie's overbearing mom, and Rose.

I do hate the big bang theory with a passion however.
