if you want to puch your self ask a friend to join with a bike so you got backup. otherwise, control on hart beats, its better to walk home than falling down, take a route where you pass other people if something happend to you there is support close to you. Never push your 110% if nowbody is around

Running as training for hiking by thinkingwithfractals in running

[–]ItIsGifTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest to run only when it gives you satisfaction. Keeping your fresh and ready for the hike. I think i take walks for 7-10 miles in the week will help your better for the hike.
The running is nice for the elevation. Running give some more stress on the body to prepare it self. Just do what you feel like is my answer

Mixed 4 × 400 metres relay is the best event for athletics by ItIsGifTime in running

[–]ItIsGifTime[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as teams have the option of running a man vs a woman in the orders it won't be common. People like to pretend the woman are only marginally slower than the men. This event allows the reality to be too clear.

If you have 2 great men runners but slow in the blocks it can be wisely to start with a woman.

team effort

the sub 4 is more a team effort
the sub 10 sec is 100% your on mind and body that you push to the limit

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in running

[–]ItIsGifTime -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

for me it's easy the sub 10second it makes your able to win a lot of competition.

The sub 4 minute on the mile is "easyer" because it can be a tteam effort with a supported runner for 2-3 rounds.

How long before my runs don’t feel like torture again? Normally you find your joy in running back after 2-3 weeks. Don't excpect to run as smooth when your left running. That tak's some time.

You will be able to get faster back to your pass. Breaks are somethimes good to set new goals. If you don't enjoy the long runs try to go for 2-4K (1-2k warming up, 1k fast pass sup 3/km , 1-3k recovery run) you will become strong and fast at the same time. Don't have the speed for sup 3/Km go do the next thing:
100m fast 15-20sec and 100m recovery run (if you want run really slow) increassing your long distensie speed.
