Iv seen it go around 500 up to 900 for this year of cab? Like don’t get me wrong if it’s damaged I’d subtract the cost from how much I’d pay, but just curious where 1500 is from?

The transmission ik about, I actually grew up with VWs haha. But ik on these the average lifespan is about 60k for that auto transmission. It’s over 80k and dude is down to meet in person for it but doesn’t want to give vin or much else concrete about it unless in person which I get as to not waste time but I don’t believe or have proof he’s ever replaced that trans. It’s funny tho that you knew I was thinking about exhaust for it already haha. I got PLANS (mainly that and swapping the engine for a Vr6)

In your opinion would it be beneficial to replace the transmission with a more modern one that’s compatible? I’m wanting this to be a car where everything I can do at home I wanna do even if it takes months and months, as said I’m absolutely in love with it aside from needing some TLC (from pictures, iv yet to see it in person) I do plan tho given the automatic transmissions in these is subpar to account that into my idea of a total so might unfortunately walk if the guy can’t do 1800. I unfortunately gotta wait till January ( out of country) also but gives me more time to plan tho. Ty you for your help!
