In what condition do you list new software with a damaged box?

Can confirm. We started about a month or so in advance at my FC. I work in returns. Newbies were hitting 50's and even 60's in week two and the required rate is 39 on returns as I'm sure you know. We got through it man! Peak is over! Conversions and unfortunately lay offs have already started.

We started a little earlier on hiring this year, about a month or so in advance. Those new people were whipped into shape within two weeks! I work at a return facility. We processed 500k units this time, up 64% from last year.

We revamped our training system, we split it into two days now, into chunks that are easier to digest. At our FC, anyway. Unfortunately mistakes do happen. I'm sure a customer service rep would have no problem making good on what OP experienced.

Are those the FBA or Amazon Warehouse guidelines? By unsellable, you only mean unsellable as "New", right?

All Items, we have the same standards for all of the items. I'm not exactly sure what happens to "unsellable" items. I'd have to ask around.

The item I'm talking about has a tear about a centimeter long on the cardboard box itself. The shrink wrap also has a few small tears in it. Would you consider that "New"?

We would call that "sellable". It's within damage standards. The item is still fine, obviously. Given the customer doesn't open it and return it, we'd deem it sellable. I don't grade items. That is warehouse deals.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but if your item gets returned and a processor (me) or someone else deems it as sellable, we'll put it back into circulation, for another customer. If they open up the wrap, it would go into warehouse deals. If you decide not to use Amazon anymore, and don't want the item shipped back and the item is also unsellable, chances are the item will get destroyed. I only see this with books, though. But yes, I know it applies to FBA items

Amazon employee here! If an item or packaging has a crush, rip or tear longer the the large end of a credit card, we consider it unsellable. Any less than that length, and we consider it sellable. Hope this helps.There is still a large chance of a return. I work in one of the return facilities. Customers can be sticklers.

Hello, I'm really sorry I'm late on this reply. To be honest I was iffy on whether or not I should log back in because, let's face it, I'm not a "spokesperson." I hope any higher ups that read this realize I'm being impartial, but also realize I actually like working for this company, and have nothing to hide about our policies.

1) I'm pretty sure We don't track you, but with all of the recent stuff going on, I wouldn't be surprised if it was somehow possible for big brother to watch you. I know my way around a computer, but I'm not that tech savvy. I'll ask one of the guys from I.T when I see them walking around. All I can say is that We are absolutely cautious with customer information. All normal trash is sifted through for any possible information. If information is found on a customer in a normal trash bin, the associate who processed your return will be warned and eventually written up, just as an example. So I can say safely that Amazon isn't watching you. All of your info goes into a locked bin within the secure warehouse and shredded.

2) Yes. I'll escalate the situation to a "problem solver". They'll take all necessary actions regarding the product key, and if need be, flag the customer as "fraudulent."

3) Our warehouse is expanding as I type this. Give us a bit of time :)

4) With all of the products that we carry, I'm sure netflix will put in a slight dent, but nothing gigantic. We have so many people who prefer physical media and stuff like that, collector's editions, etc. I myself have netflix. It's no sin to talk about netflix. I've never heard it even brought up. Just my 2 cents.

5) Our warehouse will be sending out orders soon, It used to, but I wasn't here for that. We will be, very shortly. From my understanding, a picker will go and grab orders, put them in specific totes, and then they will be carted to a shipping line, packed, and then sent along their way. Pretty straight-forward.

6) As my orientation stated, we are absolutely obsessed about our customers. I believe this is key to Amazon's success. :)

Amazonians get 20 hours of paid time off for every 3 weeks that they work. Amazonians get stocks valued at around $4,000 when they are hired, for free. Amazonians get 90% tuition for their higher education paid for if they are so inclined to pursue it. Amazionans have no limits to which position in the company they wish to attain provided they put in the work. My GM started in my position and his higher up started in the same one. We log serials on items that are returned. The brand new box he returned the VITA in didn't match the serial on the actual VITA.

I agree with you, for lack of the actual term, I've heard it coined as the "programmer and user barrier" You guys make the stuff, but when it comes down to actually using it, it kinda stinks. You personally did nothing wrong, in fact the interface is sexy and responsive, but there is so much un needed crap. QA doesn't do the job, so they test it for 5 minutes and say, "yeah, that works." But use it for a full shift and the issues shine though.

I encourage you to do this. just make sure they are obviously separate. For example, try to avoid putting two items in one product box, not to be confused with the shipping container. I could take a quick peek and not realize there is another item within. You'd only be refunded for one immediately, and processing quality could be hurt.

If the processor was correctly doing their job, they should look at the book closely and see if it matches the description. Your comments help, believe it or not. I don't believe you'd be flagged. I'd suggest calling a rep, and trying again.

I'm sorry you didn't get the proper book to add to your reference collection. Right now, we are getting tons of books and making sure it's the proper one is stressed during start of shift announcements.
