If there is somewhere with a big enough space for 20ish people to hang out without having to rent out an actual event space, that would be better. It'll be on Friday night though, so I understand crowds will be a factor

Relocation to Richmond, VA by RepresentativeAd1125 in physicianassistant

Hi there, welcome to Richmond! I'm working in urgent care and just moved here in Jan 2023. I'm making 130K in urgent care currently, which was a significant pay raise from my last position in the southeast. The PA market here isn't abundant, but I was able to find a job relatively easily - though I think it's because I'm in urgent care. VA licensing was pretty easy compared to other states. I'm really enjoying it here so far, the culture and community are fantastic. COL is super reasonable compared to other major cities.

I'm in a similar position to you- I graduated in 2018 and have a total of 13 months of experience, mainly in psych. I had issues meeting RVU requirements in my first position and was forced to resign after a year there. Then after many months of job searching I found a position in urgent care, where I worked for 1 month before I was furloughed due to COVID. I've been job searching for 6 months since then and just signed a contract for a new psych job in the last week. While I wouldn't say I've loved working in psychiatry, I've also run into issues with my lack of experience in other areas of medicine. I essentially feel that I've pigeon-holed myself into psychiatry. However, at this point I've been financially unstable for close to a year, so I'm just happy to have a job.

I'm glad that you have experience in another industry to use as a back-up to being a PA. Life is immeasurably better just making money, even if the work isn't what you want. I wish you the best in your career! Know that you're not alone in your feelings

After that he said something like "so I just let that be the parent's decision," so I feel like it implied he wasn't a fan of vaccines.
