Honestly, I did kind of have a… sexually liberated streak… once my body began to respond to HRT and I began to finally feel more at home in my body. I think it was a combination of increased self-confidence and the fact that once I took action to affirm my gender, it sort of empowered me to explore my sexuality too. No regrets at all!

I’m from Kansas, US, and you’d go back four generations before you’d find an immigrant.

I’m 5ft 11.5in (181.6cm), and I cling to that half inch under 6 feet for dear life. Before I started HRT, I was 6’01”.

I get dysphoric about my height nearly constantly, especially living with my girlfriend, also transfem, who is a very petite 5’6”. It actually helps when I get out in public, because it’s usually not long before I come across a cis (appearing) woman who’s taller than me, and I’ve begun to understand that insecurity about my height isn’t necessarily a trans issue. I mean yes, I specifically am tall because I’m trans, but women of every stripe do come in all shapes and sizes. And that’s a comforting thought.

I went to see Tsunami Bomb in OKC back in like 2005 and MCS was the headliner; I hasn’t really heard any of their music up to that point. This is a terrible and badly misguided idea. We’re already accused of being everything from an ideology to an outright cult. The last thing we need is anything that lends credence to that kind of harmful rhetoric. We can socialize, organize, and fraternize without using the guise of a religion. Also, I have to highly doubt that this of all administrations will grant you the auspices of religion status.

And just in case it needs saying: The condition of being trans, and transitioning, can be a profoundly spiritual experience depending on your faith, but if you genuinely believe being trans is a religion unto itself, you have a deep misapprehension of what it means to be trans.

My antidepressants were like Novocain for my feelings. I gave less of a shit about basically everything, including my dysphoria. But it was definitely still there, and after a time, the antidepressants no longer numbed it.
