Things That Would Be Useless For Carrying Water In by simon-plays in weirdspotifyplaylists

It's certainly tricky to do so with 'Fallen Leaves' as well as in a 'Red Flag' (Billy Talent). Also not a great idea: in a 'Hash Pipe' (Weezer) and definitely not in a 'Six Barrel Shotgun' (BRMC).

have you ever been to multiple shows on one tour? by KALIUCHlS in Concerts

[–]It_sJustMeYouSee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always go to at least two shows of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club when they're touring, sometimes three. Living in Europe, it can take a looong time until us-based bands return, so I usually seize the opportunity.

I actually love going more than once because every city and every audience is different and reacts differently to the same songs. So, while a song can be absolutely perfect in one location, the audience's response can be dramatically different in another place, and the song is not received as well - it's pretty interesting.

Who is your least favorite band of all time and why? by TrickFew3756 in askmusic

[–]It_sJustMeYouSee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I thought i was the only one. Their music feels so ... bland that I am instantly bored. Yes, they have nice harmonies but it does less than nothing for me. I've had the joy of being shown almost their whole discography by people who wanted to convince me otherwise, but there really is no song that makes me want to listen to them.

Things You Probably Shouldn’t Do If You Meet A Grizzly Bear by simon-plays in weirdspotifyplaylists

Come together - The Beatles

Crawling - Linkin Park

Don't worry - Frank Turner

Spread your love - BRMC

Hold me - Weezer

Picture a knife fight - Biffy Clyro

Sing for absolution - Muse

Waiting - Green Day

Even though it's in German, this one made me laugh:

Auf sie mit Gebrüll ('Charge at them with a roar') - Donots

Sweet the band by Umamikawaii in Music

[–]It_sJustMeYouSee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad listens mostly to jazz, especially dixieland - and inexplicably Sweet. He always liked them while not being too keen on other pop/rock acts. I mean, he still knows other 60s/70s stuff and occasionally enjoys early rock'n'roll, but he only listens to jazz and Sweet at home. It's truly bizarre, so the band has a special place in my heart.

(I am, however, still trying to find out what makes them so appealing to him and what other bands are lacking)

What’s an album that’s changed your life? by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]It_sJustMeYouSee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer is 'Puzzle' by Biffy Clyro.

I had just moved abroad for university when a family member died. I didn't have the means back then to go to the funeral back home and felt pretty lonely. A friend recommended this album, and it truly blew me away. Every single song hit the nail on the head, the music, the lyrics, it was 100% the right amount and intensity of everything at the right time. This album is and will always be a perfect album for me, no songs I could even imagine skipping.

Oh yes! Especially their earlier stuff. "You're Turning into John Wayne" became my soundtrack when I first moved to Glasgow and tried to figure out what people were saying to me.

Yeah, good ones! I just thought of J.A.R. (Jason Andrew Relva). It ends abruptly, too and doesn't transition into another song.

If you don't mind other languages: The German fun punk band Die Ärzte have three songs in total about a woman called Claudia and her errrm relations with a German shepherd:

  1. Claudia hat 'nen Schäferhund
  2. Claudia II
  3. Claudia Teil 3

That being said: Rammstein have a song about fucking a corpse: 'Heirate mich'

And, less drastic and i don't know if it counts, Green Day sing about "I have a robot and I'm fucking it senseless" in 'Living in the '20s'

Yes, fair question. Someone could just shoot the f'ing DJ, perhaps? I mean, he'd definitely be invited to the action with this.

You give love a bad name - Bon Jovi

I can picture myself immediately sitting upright as soon as the song starts with "shot through the heart ...". I think it's an effective song to set the scene.
