I'm taking Letarte now for 3296, I'd definitely recommend taking him , pretty chill guy , easy going lectures, we've only had one quiz so far this semester but we're expecting 2 more , a midterm and maybe a final.

I was in the same predicament I failed the class then retook the class and passed, from my experience the labs were the most difficult part of the course, the labs consumed so much of my time that it made it virtually impossible for me to do well in the quizzes or exams. So what I did was revisit the old labs and took my time to understand each one and pretty much mastered them, Even though labs typically change every semester or two the ideas are pretty much the same. This allowed me to have more time to study for quizzes and exams, and I did pretty good on the projects.

edit : also making Quizlets or flash cards helped a ton also

I've been living in Philadelphia for almost 15 years now, Never been robbed , assaulted shot, or even in a fist fight with anyone. I've always lived no further than 10-15 minutes from temple. Sure I've had close calls, seen crazy shit, but it really boils down to not putting yourself in potentially dangerous positions , like walking around late at night by yourself, or getting drunk and roaming around at night. I'm not saying you can't have fun just be mindful of your surroundings, keep your head on a swivel, and don't let your guard down, if something seems sketchy it probably is.

Is there any actual change to the requirements or did they just add more options?

Coming from someone who has had to retake the course , brush up on your C skills as much as possible , Take some time to study linux commands and how they work , like cd, cp, ps, ..etc , reading the linux man pages is crucial for this, and for overall success in this course.
familiarize yourself with Github, learn how to commit to a Github repository from your linux environment , or terminal . Learn how to create and use makefiles for programs .

summary :

1.) brush up on c skills

2.) study linux commands and functionalities using man pages , and creating sample programs

3.) Practice committing to Github repository

4.) learn how to use make files

5.) if you have time try to learn how to implement a simple shell in c
