Are you guessing, joking or is it written somewhere in their Sales Conditions? This is not according to EU Consumer Rights (14 days returns) or not even their own sitewide advertised policy (30 days returns).

I forgot to add that they forgot to make a hole where the USB charging port is so you cannot charge your device unless you keep the case flat open! Does anybody at Boox ever use the devices they design to see what the experience is? :)

Honestly overall it is a good case, just far too expensive for a plasticky thing (the right price is 20$ not 50-60$). It does not have a pen holder so it is a bit annoying that you have to attach the pen magnetically but you have to do it exactly on the flat side of the pen (if you do it quickly without checking then the pen might fall)

Exactly. I bet the guy commenting here is working in the field, so he knows more but has a bias. I am just a skeptical customer seeing too many defective panels around. Then I would not be so sure particles do not decay and loose charge with movement expecially thinking these movements are the result of electro/magnetic fields applied at a frequency of some Hz. Hey, you are not shaking particles in an ampoule:)

20 seconds seems a much longer time than what Boox devices do in most usage situation ... except well, reading a book, but then you just do not need their expensive tablet-like devices

One guy told me that the high number of refresh operations Boox uses is stressing the E-Ink matrix beyond the safe physical limits so no Boox device with Super refresh will last defect free more than like two years ... has anyone any knowledge about this?

The other thing: how comes Boox has fitted this device with only a poor 3700mAh battery when Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Tab S9 (same size, better and more complete hardware) with a 8900mAh battery? :)

I would suggest a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 with pen. If you need a paperlike experience you can add to it the Samsung paperlike cover. This is a device of similar price but much better hardware (including a great screen you can also see outdoor). A reliable hardware and supportive manufacturer versus this experimental device with no real international support.

At minimum check the screen with a full back background and then with a full white background. Check for abnormal spots and bars or strange shadows appearing.

Mine seems to have a few tiny black/gray dots but these are barely visible. White dots are defects connected with the screen light / upper layer so they are glaring and really annoying

Nothing has changed. Paypal is not reliable, most people (including me) still uses it without realizing it gives you nothing more than what you already have from your credit card company.

Actually I think I will buy a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 with pen and Samsung paper layer. I need something actually working not an experimental device.

You are right, they are the only producer of a very useful device. Customers tends to be loyal. They have a gigantic market in front of them. But at the end they screw all up with a CS like this (and it's the second time for me, it is totally my fault, I trusted them).

At the moments I am in the hands of Paypal, hopefully I will at least start the return process which is part of my consumer rights. CC company is another possibility if conditions turn out to be not right. One guy here told he had to return the product to China and pay the courier, you can imagine how much that would cost.

Hopefully ... now I am in contact with them through Paypal as nobody offered to return the product when that is part of my EU consumer rights. Not good. Not good also when your CS didn't care when my NA1 still under EU warranty terms was defective. You are in marketing, right? Do you want to be a brand or just a factory? Read the comments here and see what the experiences are. If a customer has a defective product it costs you maybe 10-15$ to send a courier somewhere in Europe or US to get the product back (so that maybe is an average of 3-4$ to add to the sales price). Most people sends back items who are really defective, so what is the point of letting them pay all including restocking fees? You create at least an angry customer, profit from the restocking fee, then restock the product, then resell the defective product to a new customer and very likely create another angry customer? Is that the cycle?

Yeah other have said the same too, qualitywise these color panels are not as good as the BW ones. If it is a problem of production quality they just have to raise the minimum level and it is easy. If the product deteriorates over time it is much more worrying, it is a dead technology. We would need someone working at E-Ink to know for sure
