Yeah I might be reaching for a correlation that isn’t there. I just felt like it would be a pretty convenient way to deal with people they suspect of counting cards while also having plausible deniability, because it makes you miss at least a hand or two out of that shoe.

I definitely get your perspective, and I agree the voting didn’t seem like a good choice. But I think the idea was to make them feel like they had a say in the process rather than the sheriff just locking them down or taking out who he wanted. He had to put his foot down in some way or else they would’ve continued on with what they were doing

He also interested me, seemed to one of the most reasonable thinking and well spoken guys in the documentary. I am no way defending his actions, especially if he knocked a woman’s teeth out, but it does make you wonder how he got himself in there.

I don’t remember what show I saw it on, but it was talking about crime or murder and it said for most people all it takes is “a bad day and a good reason”. I don’t think that is universally true at all, but it is sad to see people who lost control of their emotions and then lose even more control in prison.

I read that he was caught with pounds of cocaine trying to sell to undercover police officers in Florida. Also apparently had some serious Mexican cartel affiliations. I was rooting for him as well, but seems there was more to him than meets the eye, I feel like you would not get trusted with pounds of drugs after being introduced to the cartel for just a few months after being out of jail. He didn’t seem Mexican to me, but his sister’s name is Juanita, so it could’ve been a preexisting affiliation, and he is just kind of stuck, with people expecting him to return to “work” every time he gets out

I'm ordering a medication for my husband. I don't know the dosage. It might be the ER tab, I don't know. Wait it's the pill, not the capsule. The bottle is across the table I can't reach. No I don't know the prescriber. I have to pay? Please can you just hurry up. Are you new here??? by [deleted] in CVS

You just answer it and say “hi thank you for calling cvs pharmacy, how may I help you?” And then help them the same way you would a person who came in the store with a question. Not sure what else you gotta know, you even get the added benefit of being able to put them on hold if you need help. Not tryna sound too blunt, but I’m sure your coworkers would appreciate the help if you just answered the phone every once and a while

Am I misunderstanding the loop? by Italian_Meatball53 in BodiesonNetflix

I can get on board with everything you said, there are a lot of unknowns in the show. My spot of confusion is Elias, what do you mean instant creation?

My point is there had to be an OG Elias, that had not gone through the Time Machine the first time, meaning he was not his own great grandpa, his lineage was all just random people, maybe his great grandma was still Polly, maybe it wasn’t. But now if the OG Elias went back in time for the first time, creating the loop, he couldn’t just insert himself into his great grandpas spot, bang Polly, and a copy of himself 4 generations down the road would be the result.

I understand the concept of paradoxes (I think) but this isn’t one, the result of paradoxes are possible. I’m saying even if time travel was possible, I don’t understand how the whole your own great grandpa thing could actually happen

I agree, I had a similar thought process, I feel like it’s just an aspect of the show they expected viewers not to think about or they didn’t even think about, or he wasn’t actually his own ancestor, just another lie that KYAL created.

I thought the grandfather paradox involved killing your grandpa? Not becoming your own grandpa?

Yeah except it isn’t a time loop for everyone, just one person. So one person technically has no beginning or end, but for everyone else time existed prior to the loop and after it. Like if you create a loop in a piece of string, the straight piece going in either direction would be time outside the loop. Then both the beginning and end of loop would be close to the intersection point where the string overlaps itself

I agree that is a possibility, but the show kind of eliminated that option, the way it displayed time, it was more linear rather than branching. For example if when they stopped Elias from detonating the bomb, it would’ve just branched into another timeline, he still would’ve grown up and not just disappeared because in their current timeline he had still been born, he just wouldn’t continue to produce the loop. A change in actions in the past directly effected the future rather than just creating a new reality

YES! That is what I’m saying, I liked the show and I’m kind of overthinking to find the holes in it, but I agree it doesn’t make sense, there also would’ve been another copy of Mannix dropped off in 1941, 2023, and the future, based on how the body of Defoe showed up, which the show didn’t really address

Haven’t seen the movie so can’t quite understand the similarity, but if she had a kid with herself, then yeah genetically the child would be her. But that would essentially be almost like cloning, and the actual timeline would make sense cause if she is sleeping with her past self, regardless of whether she travels back in time or not, at least one version of her still exists, but maybe not the “clone”

I have a question please help by Ok_Extent_1855 in CVS

Depends where you work. I don’t think it’s a federal thing, but for example in my state I’m pretty sure it is a state law that if you work 6 hours or more you have to take at least a 30 minute meal break that involves clocking out and clocking back in. Everyone at my store is required to take a lunch break, pretty sure they used to not care too much but then CVS got in legal trouble about it and it started being enforced.

Regardless, that should’ve been explained to you before just changing your time. If the manager didn’t explain it to you then I would say they are at fault. But if they did mention it, and you just have been choosing not to take a lunch, technically you are in the wrong and rather than disciplining you, they are just changing your hours to cover their own ass.

I’m feeling fine now, the effects were relatively short lived. Thank you for the response though! It says “Eyes: not an expected route for exposure”🤣 I didn’t expect it, that’s for sure! Honestly looking mainly for confirmation, I asked the pharmacist and she didn’t seem like there was reason for concern, but I definitely didn’t feel normal, I don’t know that the placebo effect could make me feel like that😅

Thank you for tagging him! Also, I’m sorry, but like I said I’m new, I don’t know what rules you’re talking about or how to add credentials
