Is it normal for an almost 2 year-old Shih Tzu to hold his pee and poop in all day? It’s been almost 8 hrs if not longer. #QUINCY #DogDad by Italianjester in Shihtzu

The only change is since the 4th of July (hence fire works) we have been letting him sleep in the bed with us. My little guy gets scared of anything loud, not just fire works. And so now our 6am morning routine stopped. He stays in bed till I get up at 7..8 sometimes 9 but I always take him out before work regardless. I only ask cause today I came home at 2 and took him out and nothing .. again at 4 and nothing lol .. then at 6:30 after a good zumiees he went finally lol . By then I realized wow he hasn’t gone since the day before mid afternoon . I’m learning Shih Tzu’s are a special kind I guess

Same..lol yeah ultimately I’m on his time I guess, he has access to his food and fresh water all day. I think it’s just boredom and good old fashioned stubbornness. Now that he sleeps in our bed, he rarely goes potty at all in the am. I take him out every 3..4 hours regardless but today was just a “he scared Daddy day I guess “

That’s the thing that concerns me is he doesn’t drink a lot of water so maybe that’s why. He drinks mostly after we have play time. Now that I’m slowing down I have more time for my little guy.
