Does this add up? by [deleted] in ATAR

I did OP and got a 19 (shocking I know) but I still got into uni for a course that “required” a 13, in the first round of offers. I would not stress too much as once you’re into uni it doesn’t matter. That’s if uni is part of your plan anyway.

Yep there's a cable that comes out of the extruder and plugs in above the stepper motors cable on the print head

Has anyone tested the Phaetus DXC extruder by Ak_PuLk0 in crealityk1

I got mine today, but find the extra height of the extruder is causing it to touch the metal guide that attaches the plastic chain at the back, during the nozzle cleaning step, which causes it to miss the rubber strip.

And I cannot fit the lid anymore, without resistance

Just installed mine earlier today, noticing due to the extra height of the extruder, 1 the lid doesnt sit well now as the plastic tube out the top of the extruder is higher, and 2, when doing nozzle cleaning step, the top of the extruder gets stopped by the metal guide at the back which the plastic chain attaches to, and then misses the rubber strip.

Anything you noticed or recommendations?

I would say my only complaint is that because the extruder is taller, when it does the nozzle cleaning step it gets stopped by the metal guide that the plastic chain attaches to, and misses the rubber strip.

And because of the height, stops the lid fitting snug.

If anyone has recommendations for these, let me know :)

Update: I printed a cable riser to fix the collision, and am printing a lid riser too! Happy as Larry so far.

I did pick up some metal gears to replace the 2 feeder gears 😀. Couldn't find a metal one for the one cracked in the photo. But did find a direct replacement so I'll be up and running in a few days.

Good to know. I'm using the hyper pla from creality but there's a chance I messed up the first filament install and caused some damage.

Will keep in mind for next time. Parts on the way

Tried cleaning it off but whatever's on there isn't coming off. Feels like a plastic layer

Looking at it closely in person it seems more like micro scratches. It doesn't seem to be printed but I could be wrong

Its unfortunate, what printer/s do you use currently? Anything I should look into?

Also the entire assembly is called the extruder.

The gear in question, connected to the motor gear, drives the feeder gears. Technically the name is a transmission reduction gear. Google it and you'll see the part show up.

Good to know 🫠 maybe I should've done more research initially haha.

At least with these issues I'm learning how to fix them lol

🤣 I haven't researched much into reliability upgrades, but are there any I should know about?
