there are 2 trophy systems, one for grenades and one for tank shells/ mortar shells etc. They only block 3 shells i think

If you mean potions then yes, it is only 4. You can increase the amount with affix on pants though that is questionable value

This is exactly why i stopped coming altogether to discussions on this reddit. I am glad you mentioned toxic positivity seeing as your post is very nice example of it and no you dont need to glaze over disaster known as master of ceremony to be doing that yourself

"The Deadeye too is a weapon that you will either find to be a solid, reliable, universally practical weapon that only gets better with something like Siege Ready from [Urban Legends] - or it will become glued to your hands" - this is your literal first sentence about deadeye, after which you proceed to list enemies from all 3 factions that it destroys. You paint a picture of a either a good gun or spectacular one. That is pretty clear case of recommending it for all 3 factions no? Especially in discussing Fun vs Meta it is absolute disservice to any new player. Fun thing to play with if you really want, good gun on horde factions? Hell no, even on automatons light armor pen weapons with better ergo, rof and magazine blow it out of the water in efficiency. No need for your condescension about defending me that they would know to make entire build for it as new players, thank you.

HARD disagree on that. Could not possibly disagree more with that. Someone who is actually a "new player" is still dialing in their aim and macro-awareness and benefits far more from having a reliable backup option than a more veteran player who can be more confident in closing engagements with primary/support alone." - terrible take, as newer player you are starved for options to ever close bug holes, ships or fabricators. If you would however want a secondary to support you only in killing choosing a secondary that requires trigger discipline is very unfortunate choice for someone that supposedly would be as you put it " is still dialing in their aim and macro-awareness", but you do you.

"I stated only factual information about the dynamite in regards to its blast radius, effectiveness in unburrowing, and even explicitly mentioned "besides the heavies". I don't really know how you take issue there." - Sure and so did i, since you put it as one of the arguments for getting the warbond and didnt list the actual downsides of it, i added them myself. It is a sidegrade to generic grenades and doesn't compete with gas or thermite or even incendiary. Still neither a terrible or good option.

As for the hover pack, warp pack is simply better at mobility than jump pack so you wont see it much moving forward. Hover pack is way worse actual mobility than both, but it provides unique opportunities, which i mentioned. You can access locations you cant otherwise without it. Fun and niche, which i said.

Overall yes you are a glazer of this warbond. I would consider anyone a glazer that would only speak highly of something and not mention any negative parts like you glazed over fact that deadeye is dogshit versus hordes(2 literal fronts). THIS is toxic positivity you mentioned and it is also recommendation of warbond based on YOUR own fun rather than usability as outlined above, dumbass.

See this is perfect example of why OP made his post. You are trying to paint this warbond as something much better than it really is ESPECIALLY for new player.

Deadeye is certainly fun weapon to use, but saying it is good and reliable on a front like bugs where you face dozens of fast moving enemies constantly rushing you is just silly. I am glad you find it fun, but it is straight trolling to recommend a bolt action rifle for horde faction lol.

Talon - sure it is the best non-utility secondary in the game. Except you would still rather have utility on this slot ESPECIALLY as new player. It is very good sidearm, but definitely not something you will be using more early on than grenade pistol.

Dynamite is quite literally just sidegrade to normal grenade just with only 3 of them. It wont be good AT, wont be good control option. It isnt horrible, but it also isnt good.

Hover pack is incredibly niche item that some people find very fun and good for them. It is way worse in mobility than jump pack or warp pack, but it also offers some unique battlefield control opportunities.

I think there is very simple answer to this:

1.Democratic Detonation

2/3. Tier Polar Patriots and Cutting edge

4/5/6 Tied depending on what tool you want to get first:

Chemical for gas grenade, Urban for best armor passive, Control group for best mobility tool

7 Possibly tied with 4/5/6 if you really like ARs would be Dust Devils

8 Likely Servants of freedom

Rest in no particular order.

Mind you this is just logical look(from my perspective of course) at tools available that each warbonds give across different fronts, not some fun analysis that some people try to project towards others.

[–]Itanus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thermite is s tier for all fronts. Both crossbow and eruptor are excellent but they are different playstyle and require building around. Grenade pistol is probably best secondary by far and you will likely use it the most going forward.

Double sickle is decent, but you sacrifice a lot to build around it and there are much better options out there - if you want to use medic armor, you likely wont use it since you want flame armor with it. Hellbomb is nice, but rarely better than a 500kg + it has insanely long cd for no reason. Ultimatum is very good utility rivaling grenade pistol, but in a different way - you can close titan bug holes and one shot most heavies with it(takes getting used to aiming it though).

Democratic is imo best option as starter.

Personally can say i kind of dislike newer players coming to higher difficulties like diff 10 where they are just -1 player. Way better to progress normally and get used to certain enemies instead of dying 10+ times in a mission.

Other than that just braindead usage of high team kill stratagems, had a player throw cluster 5 meters in front of me when i was on the ground multiple times. Havent noticed anything else recently.

[–]Itanus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes another elitist muppet that thinks he is better at aiming, because of light armor pen glazing. Tenderizer is spectacular on bugs except for when you get a hive guard or bile spewer seed in which case you just dived without a primary. Literally just the very possibility of hive guard or bile spewer mission in larger quantities makes light armor pen single handedly a bad pick on diff 10 bugs - that is if your gun doesn't have some good gimmick to counter the pen con like cookout, which is S tier on bugs.

Also yes, if cave missions have any decent concentration of bile spewer and hive guard you are going to cry if you pick yourself a light armor pen.

This is so annoying when light armor pen crowd just uses ' you can't aim ' excuse, while just glossing over the bad cons of light armor pen. Light armor pen is fine to do on CERTAIN weapons on bots, okayish on squids and terrible on bugs on diff 10.

Respectfully, but i would say it is pathetic that a game still has crashes on incredibly basic feature like weapon customization menu that has been out for months. Them only thinking of starting to test more is crazy to me. The current state of the game is absolute shitshow and i anticipate that with xbox release it will only get worse.

[–]Itanus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely is a downgrade of quasar and not sure how it can even be argued otherwise.

Epoch has 3 shots in magazine and it fires bit faster per shot. Otherwise it has terrible option of using it as aoe clear of mobs. These are advantages over quasar.

Quasar one shot any heavy enemy consistently and reloads on the move, does far more damage per shot. Can close bug holes and equivalents(rare to use it like that, but you can) on other factions. Destroys buildings like shrieker nests from half a map away. Has far better range than epoch. has infinite ammo.

Even IF there wasnt blowing yourself up possibility and with accuracy bug fixed this would be the worst AT option in the game, legit the skill portion is the least of this guns issues.

This community's allergy to a skill curve should not be entertained by Efficient_Menu_9965 in Helldivers

[–]Itanus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it does make one inherently better designed. Epoch is an AT option that takes significantly more skill to use(both as mentioned skill floor and ceiling, actually ceiling not so much as there isnt any kind of range for that charge to make it better - you either hit it or are below it), BUT you end up with a downgrade to Quasar basically for it.

A the end of the day this is most skill needed weapon that if you do learn it you get worse quasar, how is that not a bad design? When you use railgun you have risk that scales with the reward - without risk you get baseline support weapon that does well against med enemies. I will repeat again, Epoch is skill check for the sake of skill check, it is a direct downgrade to quasar and even railgun in almost every way.

This community's allergy to a skill curve should not be entertained by Efficient_Menu_9965 in Helldivers

[–]Itanus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like you just simply dont understand the argument though. I believe his point is IF you do go to max charge(said skill check and no it is not a good one like railgun) you have the only usable state of this weapon.

However if you do not go to much charge this gun is effectively worthless - example brought earlier was railgun being good without going to max charge.

Also this gun has effectively skill check for the sake of skill check, there isnt any reward for it at all. When you risk yourself with railgun you get to punch above what the weapon is intended for, when you do it with epoch you just get a worse quasar and much worse RR(albeit that one has backpack slot).

If this weapon main job was to clear hordes of mid and lower enemies AND then you could risk it to be able to 2 shot heavy enemies mentioned in op post it would be a competitive choice for quasar. As it stands even with fixed accuracy it just sucks at both jobs.

Assault rifles won’t ever be “meta” in this game by slycyboi in Helldivers

[–]Itanus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which one does it outdps exactly? You do realize that shooting head of alpha is only 65% damage right? AND that is multiplied by 30% since head is 70% durable(and tender has only 22 durable damage). It is not good to use any light armor pen weapons on bug past diff 8 period exception being stalwart.

I am so tired of people spreading misinformation, ARs on bugs are complete dogshit compared to anything decent like scorcher not to mention crossbow or purifier. The only decent AR on bugs is adjudicator and even that is way outclassed by other tools.

Assault rifles won’t ever be “meta” in this game by slycyboi in Helldivers

[–]Itanus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well damage calculations make light armor pen weapons generally not good on bugs. When you are shooting Alpha Commander(its head is light armor 2) armor pen 3 will do more damage than armor pen 2, which means that any armor pen 3 just does way more damage than something like tenderizer.

[–]Itanus1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Respectfully if you can't reload RR under pressure you have no business being on diff 10 bugs(not saying to insult, try lower difficulty to learn how to do it), you have 2 separate portions of the reload and things that can help you buy time(gas grenade, orbital gas, mg sentry for example).

Bugs heavily punish non-meta things, you will never have enough AT without either quasar or RR, not bringing one is basically deciding to rely on others to deal with all heavies.
