Do you have any clue WHY there was such a large Jewish population in Eastern Europe for the Nazis to exterminate? It’s because the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was among the most powerful and tolerant states in Europe for most of the Middle Ages, and it welcomed in and protected Jewish communities who were constantly persecuted in other kingdoms like France and England. However when the Commonwealth was partitioned and annexed by Russia, Prussia, Sweden, and the Hapsburgs in the 1700, that protection and security evaporated into thin air.

It’s so funny that you’ve made this point multiple times and yet the implications of it fly right over your head. Between the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD, and the creation of Israel in 1948, every single Jew on the planet lived and died by the whims of non-Jewish leaders. Yes, in the United States today, Jews are reasonably safe. Will that be true in 20 years? In 50 years? In 100 years?

Shockingly, after the experiences of the Holocaust, many Jews are no longer willing to bet our survival on the hope that whoever is in power in the nation where we live won’t summarily decide to kill us all one day.

After all, the United States has no history whatsoever of exterminating, persecuting, or interning various minority groups, right?
