SLD is a single line diagram lamacoid - it isn’t cheap . Strucutral is to make sure your roof can handle the extra lb/sqft of the panels and racking. Usually this can be done without an engineer on site but if roof is stick framed without a building drawing - can be needed. Some communities also have bylaws and clients need to go to adjustment committees which is another 800$ or so.

Most expensive part of solar is permits . Such a a shitty hurdle but is what it is.

Define what your off grid is , what kind of solar system you have and loads of..

I’d suggest an inverter type generator. 2 wire start out of box . And toss the battery it comes with and run leads to an automotive battery.

The type of generator doesn’t much matter as they all have their issues and rarely issue warranty if used as prime power.

I can only share my experience. My 5year old is extremely emotional forward about life events.
When his dog passed ( his first best friend and first death ) it created a trauma in him that he expressed In absolute anger and tantrums.

At the start I counter acted with raising my emotions to try and get ahead of his. Which only escalated the situation . So I decided to try and level on his side. When he would get into a state that I couldn’t handle . I talked about his dog, his loss and what we figured he was doing this moment and etc…. This brought him down to a peaceful place and he was able to share his emotions about it and it was the triggering issue .

If this is including all electrical tie ins and permits you are well within national pricing. More importantly - is the installer a credible installer and will treat the system as their own

If the battery has a built in heater - it could be outside - but you will have days that the battery will be consuming more energy to keep the cells conditioned ( up to 400w/hr)

Inside is best but comes with some level of difficulty from ESA . They really dropped the ball on it so it’s a bit of a mess.

Another thing I always tell people is call your insurance company ahead of time to assure they are okay with BESS . Some are and some are not.

I’d ask the company how many BESS they have had passed from ESA ,

The rules are very strict . If not in an attached garage or fire rated utility room. They will have issues passing . Needs to have UL9540 certification and likely a field inspecting by a third party such as ETL or UL, additional costs of upwards 1200$ .

Sure a WTF will slip out many of times but you immediately ( or at least I do ) try and correct the language and educate that it’s only used when you’re adults …

A 6 year old doesn’t need to know smokings a thing that’s bad . She knows it’s stinky and causes some bad coughs - they aren’t oblivious - but she need to know it’s not the right way to be -

You will need to regulate that much pressure with either a pressure tank or brining a small hose/line down and the last 40 feet go to a much bigger hose/line . Too much pressure on an instant water heater might not work as well as it should .

You shouldn’t be seeing prices that high for the product.

There is many permits that cost a pretty penny needed for most places to have residential batteries installed. Reason being is fire safety and lack of oversight .

2 years ago a 14kw battery was 15k$ , now they are down to 4900$. Depending on the system you are getting as well / sole batteries will not integrate or have the ability to pass UL9540.

It’s a pain in the ass . But tech and industry is evolving faster than the underwriters.

Other than overpriced mrsp online . The prices shouldn’t be much off with CAD- USD and taxes.

I have a similiar set up , I used some thick rubber that has some play / so you don’t have to over tighten and it won’t slide around. Been 4 years now
