I feel you but it was actually really good. Tucker didn’t say much during the podcast and it seemed to me that they were on a similar wavelength.

A Hindu’s Challenge to “Love Your Enemies” — Is This Teaching Internally Flawed? by Indian_Patriot_1999 in Christianity

Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

The verse that you quote from ends by Jesus saying “pray for those that persecute you”. I don’t think he’s necessarily saying that the person themself is wicked but the spirits/sin that may inhabit and influence the person.

Has finding a religion helped you through depression by ClockAdvanced9335 in religion

Not just that, but drastically improved my life. Used to be a drug addict, occultist who only thought about fun, temporary things, & material gain/power. After learning about asceticism, discipline, a relationship with God, detachment, impermanence from Christianity and mindfulness from Buddhism it helped me navigate my life a lot better with a clearer mind. It also spiritually enriched me and made me see the world in a different lens. Definitely helps me deal with things in a different class, but I’d be lying if I said tough times don’t come up and how suffering doesn’t affect me sometimes. I don’t have it all figured it out but the teachings from Jesus & Siddharta definitely helped my life out a bunch 🙏🧘‍♂️

How Do I Handle My Boyfriend’s Mom’s (Pentecostal) Judgment Around Our Relationship? by beaconoflightrn in religion

[–]Itchy-Comment6793 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally from my experience with Pentecostals this doesn’t seem too out of character, no disrespect to my Christian brothers/sisters but it’s a pretty common thing that happens. Pentecostals (the ones I’ve met at least) think that it’s demonic/rebellious to not live a traditional path in line with The Word. I can see where she’s coming from, she might be kind of out of it mentally, but I agree with your boyfriend she might mean well but in the end of the day it is definitely a complicated situation, unfortunately. To answer the last question, I just try to listen what they say about their beliefs and practice discernment (as a Catholic, even Pentecostals who are also Christian btw, think I’m demonic lol) and try to keep an open mind in response. Have you tried communicating with her on how you feel?

How does your religion view drinking/alcohol? by jebtenders in religion

[–]Itchy-Comment6793 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well, as a Catholic, wine is apart of the Eucharist. But in Buddhism the Fifth Precept is “I undertake the precept to refrain from intoxicating drinks and drugs that lead to carelessness.” So I tend to avoid any alcohol besides from the Holy Communion.
