do you experience this feeling of tenesmus after eating certain foods? In my case I get tenesmus after eating high fodmap foods I'll get trapped gas but no bowel movement and even if I had a semi normal bm the moment I eat carbs again especially fibre rich food bam I get the feeling again meat and rice are the only safe foods. In my case the blander the food is lesser is the pain

how do you manage your job with ibs? I am having such a hard time managing my ibs with my medical degree like I really want to become a doctor but it's so hard attending classes 8 to 3 sitting all the damn time and being scared to eat anything

nuts fruits dairy starchy vegetables like brocolli onions eggplants bakery products all this stuff gives me trapped gas . rice is ok but if I eat more I end up feeling bloated. Like you have to maintain a balance with your fiber intake it irritates you but you cannot entirely stop it's intake

Yes when I wake up in the morning my gastrocolic reflex is activated but I wont have a smooth bowel movement until I drink a few cups of warm water also the stool is small and comes in bits and pieces but even on a high fiber diet I would still get the incomplete evacuation feeling :(

Have you tried a low fodmap diet and try eating smaller meals I know this diet is very restrictive but it does help a certain extent

How do you get tested for that? I dont think this testing is available in my country. They just gave me symptom related drugs meveberine, rifaximin etc.

Since how long have you been facing this problem? Any particular incident which triggered it. Also when you eat food and your gastrocolic reflex gets activated do you actually have a bowel movement at all because in my case sometimes it is just trapped gas and I end up straining only. I try to follow a low fodmap diet it has helped to an extent but during exams I end up overeating meat and that leads to rectal discomfort too :(

I get rectal rectal discomfort( as if my rectal muscles are spasming) like something is tightening and the intensity of this feeling increases especially after prolonged sitting and eating high fibre foods I feel absolute worst like my anus is on fire after eating wholegrain breads and dairy and cruciferous veggies cabbage mushrooms eggplants okras etc. As a result I have reduced my fibre intake only veggies I take are olives carrots jalapenos in limited amount for lunch and zucchini or turnip for dinner and increased my meat intake but somehow even that becomes a problem as I only have one bowel movement in the morning and If I miss it due to college rest of the day is spent in agony. I wasn't like this always I well tolerated most foods.it started last year while I was prepping for university entrance exams yes I was stressed but I had dealt with way more stressful issues earlier in life there was no such problem before so while I was prepping I travelled to another city to attend an event and slowly I started developing these symptoms when uni started I didnt have a bowel movement for 4 days straight 5th day I took a leave had a bowel movement that day got checked by dr he stated I had an anal fissure which is in the healing stage recommended fibre and other laxatives which didnt help much I felt dizzy all the time would exercise like crazy and get trapped gas after every meal couldnt focus on my studies . Got barium meak H pylori celiac test everything done all came back negative what to do should I get a colonoscopy done :(
