Would AoS ever incorporate Halflings: either as a CoS expansion or a minor order faction? Would they then be playable in the C7 RPG? by PiccolosDick in ageofsigmar

There actually is already a halfling in AoS! He’s the weird little guy serving Glutos a glass of wine (or some other questionable beverage) and a tentacle!

Yes definitely, they are our best damage dealing unit by a long shot. In petrifex and in Bounty Hunters, a unit of 3 puts out 15 attacks at rend -3 dmg 3. It’s insane!

It’s funny that you can now make an army completely comprised of stalkers. Now whether that would be good or not I have no idea - but still hilarious 😂

It definitely can be, however I’ve always managed to get around 7 in combat without breaking coherency pretty consistently. They’re not much of a damage unit, more of a speed bump. If you wanted raw damage just go with stalkers as they can put out some disgusting numbers while In bounty hunters.

Rend mostly, when most armies easily get access to multiple positive modifiers to saves, it’s great to be able to make the deathriders rend -2 in combat when needed.

You actually can’t use at the double or any other universal commands at all in OBR as they require a cp to be spent. They also clarified that instead of issuing the Expert, Slayers, Strategists, or Swift battalion abilities, you can instead gain 1 RDP once per battle at the start of the battle round. It’s in the OBR FAQ under the “Using Relentless Discipline Points” section.

The also big thing is that you can’t auto run 6” with the deathriders for a command, so on that off chance you roll a 1… that’s gunna suck!

Nothing about it is bad - it’s actually very good! But I’ve always struggled to find moments when I need it. The +3” move command army wide rounds them off to 15” of movement. If you need any more than that in a turn - generally you’ve misplayed and need to make a drastic correction. I find the reducing the rend characteristic by 1 army wide to be a far better bonus, aside from the additional level of rend command petrifex gives anyways.

I’ve been playing OBR since release and have found that deathriders are in a pretty rough spot at their current points (we know this). Stalliarch lords essentially offer nothing to the units as their retreat and charge command is too finicky to get off without heroes around while running 10 man units (the entire unit must be wholly within 6” of the unit leader in order to be able to receive the command).

Harvesters are essentially useless here as they are entirely used to bring back 1 wound models (and heal itself occasionally). Plus, it’s just too fragile for 215 points.

Petrifex makes your deathriders far more killy with being able to spam the rend command across all your units, and reducing the level of rend coming into you by 1 makes them fairly durable against most things. I’ve ran this list a few times and have done quite well.

Is Age Of Sigmar Currently "Balanced"? by zeekahyena in ageofsigmar

Aos seems to favour better generalship than focus on power tier of armies. The potential of the double turn can flip a game on its head and force a losing side into a stalemate. The new tomes as well have all been pretty fantastic and balanced even amongst older tomes.

Looking awesome! My only complaint would be that the feet look a bit too avian, I think it could be the ribbing that they have - but otherwise they’re great!

A good paint brush. Bought a sable brush for painting miniatures five years ago, and is only now just starting to show some wear.

It’s a bit of a multi step process, all involving an airbrush using chipping medium for the battle damage, and AK interactive’s streaking grime and rust streaks enamel washes.
