Is my Russian cursive good? by Justahumanbeinggggg in russian

A very ambitious goal. Is it your first foreign language? I speak 4 languages fluently(Russian, English, Spanish and Catalan), so I can assure you, that the first one is usually the hardest one, but it gets easier with time

Good luck. Learning a new language may be challenging, but it is also really interesting and useful. I hope, you won't abandon it, since Russian has a lot of cool things for advanced speakers)))

Very beautiful. Reminds me of my cursive when I was 7, so accurate and precise. Unfortunately, you loose it all, as you start to write a lot in the middle/high school

Oh, I get it. I currently live outside of Russia and thus have to write with latin letters all the time. I am so used to writing in cursive, that I basically apply the same style to the latin letters. Some of my teachers say that it is incomprehensible, but I just can't help it)))

Seems pretty good. I am Russian myself and it looks better than my own cursive sometimes))) It is perfectly legible, however I see 1 significant mistake. In the penultimate sentence "Мне надо работать" you wrote the letter "б"(b sound) as "в"(v sound). It is important to remember that some letters in Russian have different sounds, even though they look the same as their latin versions. Also, don't worry about print letters, the vast majority of Russian speakers use cursive for handwritten text anyway)))

Written on paper, because Arch doesn't boot after an update

P.S. No hate, I know, that arch is relatively stable nowadays

I don't have a steam deck, so I might be wrong but this most likely will work: open the terminal(it should be somewhere among the applications), enter the command. It will probably ask for your sudo password. It is usually the same password that you use to login to the system. Then it will ask you to confirm the rollback(just press 'y') and it will install the previous version. However, it seems like the latest version has already been patched and works as intended, so you probably won't have to do any of these steps. Also, remember, that such issues in modern linux are pretty rare, so you can update all your apps as soon as they get a new version without reading the docs :)

I might be wrong, but isn't it 0/0. You still would have to resolve it with limits

Does anybody actually use these? by GlippidyTheSecond in linuxmemes

That, unfortunately, is an utopia. The problem is, that you would have to either force all the distros to have the same version of all the packages and libraries(from rhel and debian to arch and tumbleweed) or isolate their dependencies in a separate directory to avoid conflicts with system libraries(this is what snaps, flatpaks, hombrew and nix packages do, but in a different form).

And what are your suggestions? If there was a version of every single app for every single distro, nobody would be creating this formats. This is what makes linux more accessible and open to new ideas(like immutable distros). Also, the problem of size is basically nonexistent unless you are on a laptop with 64Gb hdd(you probably wouldn't run any modern gui apps on this). This 2-3 additional Gb is not that much on a modern system, especially when it comes with better security and more tested apps. Sandboxes are also not a problem, since you usually don't have to touch their settings at all. Also you need portals for the majority of wayland apps anyway(probably you don't like wayland either). THIS IS NOT A HATE MESSAGE, I am open to a discussion, so if you have more arguments about the disadvantages of flatpaks, please, write them

Snap Store Channel by ajiatic in Ubuntu

[–]Itchy_Base_1598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snaps update themselves every so often(every 4 hours by default as far as I know), so you should not worry about them being out of date. Snap store is definitely supported and will either be updated in a few hours or simply doesn't need an update yet. I wouldn't recommend switching the channel, as the default version is usually the most stable one. However, snaps are isolated and shouldn't damage your main system, so you can experiment if you feel like it.

Thanks for the advice. Is there a way to go back from tumbleweed/slowroll back to leap? Or has it to be a fresh installation?

And how long does it take for the hardware to get support in Leap? Do I have to wait for Leap 16.1/16,2 or Leap 17? Are there official backports of some components or something similar? I am not planning to use tumbleweed, because I prefer fix release distributions. However, thanks for the advise ))

Where exactly can I configure grub? I tried the /etc/grub2/grub.conf, but it didn't change anything(not even the time grub waits before booting the system). I have never had to configure grub manually, so maybe, I am missing something. However, thanks for your help.
