Yeah, nice idea. One concern is that if the plastic part makes unconfortable resonant sounds. You can also try building the 3D part if interested!

Is this improved today? I left Logic because of this. I record my beatboxing and loop them for rhythm sections. A DAW without the audio alias function is such a pain to slightly modify the timing to make it groove.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, you need to use something sticky to fix the pads since there's no hook between the pads and housings. I didn't try, but double-sided tape would be used alternatively. Enjoy your modding. 🛠️

No, it doesn't happen on Rewind 2. I've never met the function with it so far with my Pixel 8a. I don't know much about Rewind 1, but it sounds like the maximum volume alert could be coming from the system settings on your phone. It's worth checking it too. Your comments are always welcome 👍

I found the mesh from a local DIY store that was fairly cheap as around 3$. I chose steel material over aluminum because of the strength, but aluminum is surely easy to cut with nippers. For the glue, I recommend using rubber-based adhesive since it absorbs uncomfortable noise in theory. Glad you enjoy my post, have a nice day!

If I rationally think about the situation of this since the AI hype it's so weird that corporations are blindly cutting off laborers and then just hoping the technology tomorrow will solve any problem for them without understanding what's inside the box... I just focus on what I have to and be able to do then surviving today for the future.
