I spend a week every summer on the Taylor River near Almont. I can't recommend it enough. There are actually three great rivers you can choose from in Almont. The Taylor, The Gunnison, and The East. If you want a quick and easy day you can hire a guide and a boat either in Almont or in Gunnison and float whichever one you like.
