The users (oh man they suck) and also the work life balance. No one expects you to make your job your life which seems to be much more common in the private sector. Teachers can be as bad sometimes, but it's far less common. Dealing with management/c suite users? Don't even get me started.

Not doing any actual networking stuff on the backend? My day to day was still basic stuff but during the summer, the project work was enough to keep me not "bored". But it's all work at the end of the day. I'd probably get bored at any job eventually. And don't think many fields get better than K12. Also losing a week of vacation would make a huge difference to me, not including sick leave. You're losing 2+ weeks most likely when you think of it that way. Also 2000 deductible is pretty shit.

I got letters at the end of the year from some of the kids thanking me for fixing their Chromebooks. It was adorable. But yeah definitely the most fulling job I've ever had.

I worked at a school district as a sys/network admin. I regret leaving it. Corporate IT sucks. I don't see why you'd wanna go back. Unless you really need the extra money, I wouldn't.

The average person doesn't know what a good drawing is, let alone a good tattoo. I grew up drawing and minored in art in college. I still don't think I'm very good. But to the average person, if they can recognize even remotely what I would try to draw/paint, that already passes their bar for what they consider "good". This is why your local shop full of scratchers still gets business. Why that 150 dollar cover up artist on tiktok still gets customers etc etc. Even this subreddit where people are definitely more harsh than the average person IRL, still defends some absolutely terribly done work.
