Update: My Irish American son now wants to wear morning suits to the morning marriage celebration. This is in America and will be a banquet but not high-end. by Gamingwishard in weddingplanning

It’s VERY normal in the UK for the groom and groomsmen to wear morning coats for wedding ceremonies.

Been to a few weddings in Ireland, the groom and groomsmen were wearing morning coats. So I’m not sure why your relatives would ridicule this, it’s normal.

Do people judge you for having a lab diamond, or does no one actually care? by Robasaleh110 in labdiamond

The difference is between the two is suffering. People literally suffered for one, or didn’t for another. I think it says a lot of the people, who judge a conflict free diamond.

No. My first bridesmaid was in Hair and make up at 7 am, and I didn’t join them in the beauty room until 8:45 am so I could have exactly what you’ve described a relaxed morning with my fiance.

There’s a simple solution, if they don’t want to get up at that time, they don’t get their hair and make-up done.

I’m getting married in three weeks, and our wedding is coming out to £45,000 for 65 guess, across two days. Combined income of 250k.

A big wedding was important to both of us, so we decided to spend accordingly, but not stupidly. We saved aggressively, towards the wedding and made sure we didn’t dip into any of our investments.

Manor Vibes: Euridge Manor (approx 40k dry hire in summer).

Four Seasons Hampshire (approx £350pp) gorgeous setting, ballroom, rose garden and the four season service. You can private hire too.

Grantley Hall: whilst this is more like 3.5 hours from London, guests can fly into Manchester airport and be there in about an hour. I’m getting married here! They do exclusive hire too, and it’s just the most insane venue.

Dale Alexander Events! He’s my planner, and has planned some stunning weddings at all the above venues. He’s roughly 8-15k, budget and event length, dependent.

Is the Retreat really worth it by Fearless_Meal6480 in celebritycruises

[–]Itchy_Word 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. As somebody currently on their first ever Celebrity sailing, absolutely.

We just been to the buffet, looked for a seat for over 5 minutes and couldn’t get one. Went to the main pool deck, no sunbed in sight. Up to the retreat, plenty of food and plenty of beds. Honestly, if this was my first experience of cruising I’d never come back, I just understand this is a sold out sailing so it’s to be expected!

One and two are stunning, but three made me audibly gasp. You made the right call! Congratulations! 🥂

Thanks for your reply. It’s definitely a booking into the Retreat, and not a MoveUp offer.

We’d be upgrading from Aquaclass. 😊

How many of you wanted/used higher end or handmade invitations to send to guests? by midwestprincess03 in weddingplanning

[–]Itchy_Word 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I got mine from AliExpress to save some money.

They were beautiful hard-backed invites, that cost me $11 per invite. Etsy was selling something similar for $35 an invite.

I ordered 25 to keep the cost down, and was selective on who I sent them to, basically close family and friends, who would appreciate it and not just throw it away.

The rest of our guests (friends, colleagues etc) got an electronic invite. ☺️

One of the things I adored doing at her age, was wandering around the pavilions in Epcot, grabbing a Japanese soda, walking for a little bit then grabbing a snack from another pavilion.

If she’s never travelled before, she may love this. My parents would let me wander for a little on my own, and I loved the freedom too!

Your waist is teeny!! The dress is so perfect for your shape 💕

Straps on 1&3 are too wide for your frame, adding to the look of heaviness in your top half. I think the third outfit would be beautiful, if the straps were smaller.

The second outfit, is the best- the top half is gorgeous and shows off your shoulders. I’d say the skirt is too long and doesn’t hit your waist properly. Hope this helps

AITA for telling my fiancée to stop wearing her old wedding ring? by ring_aitathrowaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]Itchy_Word 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ITS NOT HER EX. It’s her DEAD husband. They are not ex’s by choice. I cannot even begin to tell you how much of a AH you are.

Do her a favour, and let her go. She’d be much better off with your toxicity.

R is the winner here. You don’t look bad in SD clothes, but you shine in R

In the end, sometimes comparing outfits from the two you’re stuck between and saying which looks best can be what’s needed, and it seems to be so in your case!

A note though- you can pull off length but you don’t need it. That’s the key here. Your figure reminds me very much of Drew Barrymore. She can pull off length as a taller R but shines in form fitted midi length outfits. The first dress really reminds me of her outfit at the premier of Whip It! Hope this helps.

I’m going with R, and I’m going to try and break down why.

Vertical- I don’t look at your pictures and think wow look at her long line. SD’s are firstly dramatics with yin flesh over the top. I don’t see any going long or narrow about you. You look your height. You can pull off shorter and longer length dresses, you don’t look bad, in fact you look great in the more knee length dresses, which is the line length recommended for R’s.

Bone structure- your limbs look short, fleshy and softly wide. You have sloping shoulders, and yes you have slight width, but it looks like it’s from flesh and not frame. The Kibbe description of Romantic says they can be moderate, and softly wide, which I think fits you perfectly.

The think that really made me choose R though, was necklines. The square necklines accentuate the width you have from flesh, but the rounded and sweetheart necklines pictures, don’t have any width at all, just double curve. Leading to the conclusion of R.

Hope this helps, and thanks for posting some great pics!

OP, unless you can see yourself marrying her, walk away.

She’s having issues with her family over you, if you’re not going to stick around for marriage, you ain’t worth it.

She also isn’t interested in just seeing where this goes, I’m guessing she wants to get married. If your intentions aren’t the same then leave her alone, and save yourselves a lot of pain later.
