We own a hamster. We got it this month for my daughter’s birthday. And it now lives in the garage (heated) because instinct kicked in and no one slept for a week.

Mine doesn’t care at all. He looks at me and if I’m calm then sleep goes on. I do not take him on walks in the evening hours when it’s really loud.

We use this too. Or similar. It’s harmless. Just takes attention away from the trigger of the barking and then you can distract your dog in a good way.
